Just remember that when someone breaks into you house and you call 911 which then transfer you to the state police dispatcher.(BTW york co 911 does not dispatch PSP) The one thing you don't know is that the closest trooper is all the way out in peach bottom twp and he'll be there as soon as he can.
I don't believe that your helpless, liberal, urbanite mentality will garner much support here in Shrewsbury. My neighbors here are much more than any police force could aspire to. We're vigilant, we're familiar with one another and each other's property. We're pro active in protecting each other...the way it should be! There's no need for expensive, additional law enforcement here...end of story.

If that be the case, you all should attempt to help your fellow citizens that work at the banks/stores in your area so their lives are not place in jeopardy with every other day robberies. Or don't you care about them? Get your own police force as I am tired of helping to pay your way.

The dead horse that you are beating is protection for the banks and businesses that enjoy easy interstate access and the huge profits that it yields. Those businesses can easily afford to provide their own security...NOT THE RESIDENTS! Now open your eyes and see who's way you are paying...and I'm paying it, too!

BTW all the fees in HB-1500 are per capita fees. That per person over the age of 18

That bill and many others like it have died in Harrisburg. Towns with 10,000 or more may one day be mandated. Legislators have said that that will probably be the only thing that will pass. STWP has about 6200-6500 residents, 80% is rural farms. Most shopping centers across the USA have their own security, that helps quite a bit when they have their parking lots patroled. Rather surprising that the Walmart center doesn't have their own security.

How that would work is that amount is multiplied by the number of people but then the total amount of $$$ is divided to the property owners (only) again and is based on the assessed value. Once again the property owners will have their taxes go up, not all the residents will pay, only the property owners.

Yep, in my opinion Rusty is most of the bad stuff that everyone has said. No arguments there! personally whether there is a police force locally or not, it does not matter to me. If there is, most likely all they will do is turn on their lights to gain right of way through an intersection (saw that one just recently) or bring in the dog to help solve the crime but refuse to actually follow up on the case all while driving up my taxes. If they do not have it, I get to speed on the roads like I used to do when I was younger, I know coverage is sparse and I just need to carry more. So, I guess looking at it, I think they should disband the force and let's go back to thge good times and save some money doing it! let's face it, the State catches everyone worth a darn anyway (e.g. Playing Card Arson Suspects)
