My vote goes to Mike Flannelly because of his experience, honesty and integrity. Plus, he's personable and should serve as a nice addition to our slate of judges.

Bruce Blocher gets the support of the City cops and the state cops. Pretty good for a public defender to get the support of the cops. Typically he is the enemy of them.

He MUST be doing a great job.

The best experience for a judge who presides over trials is heavy trial experience. This excludes most family lawyers who seldom go to trial. Criminal lawyers try many cases, but prosecutors tend to take their pro-cop bias on the bench, so I'd prefer public defenders. Solicitors don't do diddly.

Vote for experience, integrity and values. York County deserves nothing less. Seven candidates for two positions - time to do your research and think critically so the cream does rise to the top come election day. My votes will probably go to to Menges with a toss up between Blocher with Flannelly.

Do we really want to elect judges--who will be assigned to family court--whose real love is criminal court?

Won't they just consider their family court assignment "doing time" until they finally get what they really want?

Do you want your family law mattered presided over by someone whose heart isn't in it?

To quote an unrelated commercial, "would you ask your lawyer to neuter your dog?"

He should be their enemy. The question is - Why isn't he?

I watched the forum today and stand corrected about family lawyers and trials. I learned there were more custody trials in the county than all other civil and criminal trials combined. I still favor heavy trial experience because litigators can do the other stuff but non-litigators can't necessarily do well in trial. My first choice is Trebilcock with a tie between O'Shea and Blocher. You can't just pull the R or D lever because all candidates are cross-filed on both parties. Ask around and inform yourself. The best judge isn't necessarily the one you'd like to have a beer with.

My picks are Trebilcock and O'Shea. Both have years of experience in diverse areas of law.
