Ms. Santiago "needs an education" to keep getting her checks...or else the trollop will have to get a JOB ! Put a dime between your knees...and don't drop it. HOW'S THAT FOR BIRTH CONTROL.

Such high rates in Fitchburg, and the city doesn't teach comprehensive sex ed at the middle school level. High school is too late. It should be taught and let parents opt out if they don't want their kids in the class. If the health clinic at the high school that parents were surveyed about last year opens it should have birth control available for students with parental permission.
There are also related health issues that can lead to teen pregnancy - a distorted picture of sexuality due to incest/abuse of minors, clouded judgment from teen substance abuse, undiagnosed mental illnesses such as depression that lead to low self-esteem and a desperate need for love (mistakenly equated with sex). I wish it were as simple as giving the dime speech, but it's not.

"Santiago acknowledged she was too young at 15 to give birth, but said she is excitedly looking forward to her second child."
At 20? Her second child at 20? Are you effing kidding me????? No education, no means of providing for your child, apparently no father in the picture and you're excited??
You should be ASHAMED of yourself!
You have no right to be having children you can't provide for, and we're all sick and tired of having to pay for your mistakes with our tax money.

Open your wallets ladies and gentlemen. MassHealth, WIC, and every other program pays for it. And while sex ed is a great idea, and appropriate......it is going to have little bearing on pregnancy rates.
Hell, I take care of pregnant teenagers at work on a regular basis.....My youngest patients being 13 and pregnant. How wonderful.
And folks should look at the article in Boston Herald last week. A 35 year old woman suing a hospital in Springfield for being accidentally strilized after her 9th (yes NINTH) child. Her oldest child is 21 (meaning she had her first child at 14), and 3 of those children are in the custody of family members....Oh yes, she collects "disability" every month.
I am all for helping those in need, but there has got to be a line. Then again, I am just a mean-spirited and heartless person.

Like mommy, like daughter. Where do you think they learn this behavior? Their parents should be ashamed of themselves for letting this happen. As a society we should be ashamed of ourselves' for supporting such behavior.
Bring children into this world when you can handle them responibly and financially.
Why should we pay for these animals to breed?
