I have been away from Shreveport for about ten years and really have not been back until this week.

I got up and turned on the TV and just laughed at how hokey these simpletons are that are on the local TV news. This is absolutely amazing! They cannot even string words together to make a complete sentence.

Where do they find these morons that they put on TV?

I am not trying to be ugly here, but this is really like watching a bunch of third graders trying to do a TV show. I am amazed!

Why don't you trot back to wherever you came from.

We've been getting along just fine without you for the last ten years.

I agree with the original post. Incompetence is the answer. There is no local pride in receiving an education. There is no mental connection made between the ability to speak and effective performance. It's why we got GW Bush. Twas more about having a beer than putting together a coherent thought.

If the people around here would venture out beyond their comfort zone, they'd see just how amazing the rest of the world is compared to this skid mark.

If you think the television personalities are bad, just imagine what it's like trying to get quality work done on the house, car, or property.

Of course, the answer you're going to get from them is to go back to where you came from. The people of Shreveport are some of the most unwelcoming assholes I've ever met in my life. Southern hospitality may exist in Alabama where storms have ravaged the landscape, but those kinds of southerners are nowhere to be found here.

And when you leave, take little Waveform with you.

We have no need of yet another jackass with a misguided sense of self superiority.

On the contrary, the people with the superiority complex are people like you in Shreveport. I blame your proximity to Texas. You think you're better than people from the North, but we're all in the same damn US of A.

Want to secede? Mexico is atta way.(points)

You need a gut check and a reality check. There are better ways of doing things. Getting an education is a good thing and holding Shreveport residents accountable for their contempt is a necessary step in improving this shit stain of a town.

Take your bitter attitude elsewhere and leave us to do as we choose. You aren't from here so go away

Again, seems like all you people can do is tell others to leave.

Take your bitter attitude and shove it, eh? I live here too. I don't like it, but I pay my taxes like everybody else. I serve the community. I want to see it change because doing as you choose obviously isn't working. Other people are taking notice of the incompetence. That's not a reputation Shreveport wants. You shouldn't want it either.

Wavy, we're just thrilled to have you here.

If we didn't have pompous jackasses like you to criticize everything, we'd just be lost.

Just don't know how we made it without you before.

The pomposity seems to be emanating from the southerners, not from me. My responses only sound inflammatory because the local sentiment is unwelcoming and bloated with self importance.

So turn that attitude back the other way, Doc. You're wasting my time.

Anyone who is serious about improving this town needs to quit fooling themselves into thinking the status quo is kosher. Plain and simple. Do a little introspective analysis and start calling out the foulness of Sleazepote. The reputation is catching up....fast.

Let me guess.

You were the geeky, know-it-all kid in school who was very unpopular.

And you haven't changed.

Bad guess. Try again. Leave the psychoanalyzing to the professionals. You obviously don't have the background for it.

You know, I've heard southerners make the claim that you're not all a bunch of ignorant hicks. I've heard them say that just because they talk slow, it doesn't mean they're slow in the head. I've heard them say the stereotypes aren't true.

Shreveport perpetuates those stereotypes, so any proud southerner should frankly be ashamed of anyone who considers Shreveport a fine southern town.

My point is, anyone who visits Shreveport will leave with the impression that southerners fit the stereotype. If that's what you want, keep doing what you're doing. If you don't want the rest of the country to see this town as a backwards hole in the ground, you might think about growing a pair and changing things.

The other sad point to make is, whenever I meet someone around here who is equally aware of the incompetence, their attitude is often apathetic. "That's just Shreveport," is how they see things. You've beaten their optimism into a pulp and all that is left is the simple recognition that something is indeed wrong with this area. They have lost the drive to change any of it. These are not outsiders like me, but Shreveport/Bossier natives.

So on one hand, you have people who feel change is a matter of futility and their mood can only be described as in despair. On the other, we have people like you who post here, already too set in their ways to see the light of day. Nobody is left standing to fix any of the problems.

I'm sorry. Maybe I should stick to a third grade reading level for you. For someone named Plastic Hamburger, I'm not surprised my words leave you feeling befuddled. You probably not only eat plastic, but lead paint chips too.

Keep the spite coming. You're only reflecting what it is I keep saying about Shreveport. Nothing but a bunch of scumbags with nothing nice to say.

Just remember, I'm not the one who started this thread. Someone else saw the hapless and hopeless television anchors in our area and called attention to them. Pull your head out of your ass and maybe you'll start to see you're the problem!

The beautiful thing about Topix is, Google indexes these threads. If I can't convince you that this unwelcoming attitude needs to go, at least I can sink the ship by allowing you guys to continue being assholes. Makes Shreveport look exactly how I keep describing it.

If anyone does a search, this little nugget is going to be in the results somewhere, if not simply the Shreveport Topix listing.

Keep at it. The next person who gets to read this crap could be the man or woman who has to choose whether or not to open a business around here. Could give you or your kids a job. You never know.

You're only hurting yourselves here and I obviously don't have an invested interest in making sure your reputation is legit. I love watching you guys come on here, telling people to leave this city. Looks real ugly to others.

Let's see.

You don't like Shreveport, and you don't like Texas.

You're just hard to please, Turd Breath.
