Ghost Rider is right, but if you are going to move to this community for school then do so. NSU's nursing school in Shreveport is top notch. After you become an RN you should be able to pick the type of community you really want to live in and move there. Nurses are always in demand.

do yourself a favor and don't. unless you want to worry about gettin mugged and murdered or have your car stolen move to bossier parish not caddo. cops in shreveport are crooks, the mayor is a crook, the city council is made up of either thugs or down right idiots the schools are horrible but you still gotta pay ur dang property taxes to pay for em. so unless your some rap music wannabe dont. shreveport is fun to visit downtown but i will never ever ever live there again.

Hey ghost rider...how much you paying your posse to post all these lies? My husband don't drink, my house never burned in any kind of way. So please get your facts straight before you post your BS! My husband has a high paying job with a major company out here. We didn't move because of personal issues like those you have. We were re-located because of his highly educational job. But you and your posse wouldn't understand what that means. It's over your head!:(

Oh and by the way...I will admit that there were three or four houses that had caught fire before and after we left that neighborhood, but none of them were ours. :)

The crime in shreveport is down. Mella 3 most of the crime is black on black the offenders knows each other. The sold call robberies sometime are done from employees. Crime is going down look at the crime map and you can see the areas that is mostly effective in Shreveport. If you go to the City of Shreveport Web site you can see the stats. However those people who lives in Shreveport asked them why are they still here. Ask them why they still live in the neighborhood they live in. Let me tell you why they are uneducated and do not have the desire to keep the neighborhood they live in good. They want to complaint on this site where they can talk about people and not have a solution. There are good people who lives in Shreveport. Shreveport will remain divided until people get educated. If you noticed educated people, christians, nor people who has a stakehold in their community dont go around flying rebel flag. Only those who is looking for attention, dessention, problems and for people like them. Then as they group together all of them becomes dump and stupid.

Shreveport is not the best place to live.... but bossier which is right over the bridge has very good schools, there are a lot of police so crime is not high at all, its a very quite, place to live and very pretty, theres lots of stuff to do for kids, chuche cheese, kiddy mias, planet fun, water fun on the red river, cypress lake, moves, the boardwalk, but if i could help and make a suggestion if you do end up moving here use mighty movers they moved me and it was great very nice people, i moved originally from texas and brought a u haul here when i got here i didnt want to unload all my crap so i called them and they unloaded it was great. not to bad on the price either!!!! move to bossier not shreveport great houses and safe!

The SBC is holding up well during the recession, in fact Forbes just named it the 8th best medium sized city for finding a job. There is a lot going on and you can check it out at www.reflectionsofsb.com ; Reflections of Shreveport-Bossier community magazine.

Take a look at the calendar to see the kinds of things that go on in the areas.

I lived in shreveport for 8months, then moved back to arkansas to care for loved ones who have now passed on and I would love to move back there,I didnt have a problem.I wish I could remember the name of the school my kids went to there, they really where about the only white kids there and not an once of racism thrown their way, the teachers where so positive, there was one mean bitch that work the office she found the hillbilly in me real quick. I had a wonderful landlord named Lucy johnson( I still think of her)my neighbors where awsome, and there are sidewalks everywhere to walk.I always felt a calmness in shreveport. DOnt work for frank freez though he is a 70something crybaby if he dont get his way.But thats a whole other story.
