My family and I are considering moving back to Shreveport and since we have two small children now, I really want to find the best school for them, preferably a public school. I grew up in Shreveport and moved when I started college (which seems like a million years ago). Any comments?

University elem. used to be a good school. That was about 100 years ago when I was a kid. Check it out, it's probably still a good school.

Yes, Walnut Hill is a wonderful school! You just have to have the correct address to get your child in there. That or lie about where you live. But I agree, Walnut Hill is a great school!

If I moved to Shreveport, what elementary and middle schools would be the best for my children. I want a safe environment, dedicated teachers, and a rigorous curriculum. Can I find that in the public school system? Please recommend schools and neighborhoods I should consider. I have about $150,000 for a home purchase. Will that get me into a good neighborhood?
