3 prior arrests? Why wasn't she behind bars? Why pass laws if they are not enforced. Can't blame the police, so it has to be the useless judges in Va.. Maybe the judges feel that if drunk drivers are put back on the road it will be a new form of population control. Maybe the judges have a pool going to see how many innocent people can be killed by drunk drivers. I think it's time the judges got their act together and put these folks behind bars on the first DUI..

Not 3 prior arrests, but 3 prior CONVICTIONS. That they gave her her license back is an obscenity. She needs to go to jail. I once sat in traffic court all day and watched a judge, literally, dismiss every singe case that came before him. It has to be frustrating for law enforcement. Finally, I is fortunate the young man she hit will be ok.

out why those who go out to drink never seem to know how to call a taxi for a ride home. It's a simple solution to what has proven time and again to be an often fatal problem. 3 DUI convictions and now a hit and run and another DUI... She dosen't strike me as someone who will ever get the message. Jail time, fines, no license it dosen't matter to her. She will continue to do exactly what she wants to do and when something goes wrong well you'll hear her say - But officer I was drunk, you can't hold me responsible. I didn't mean to do it...

This person should not be allowed to have a drivers license or own a vehicle of any kind;not even a riding lawn mower or golf cart. I wonder why she drew 5 years for DUI in 2004 and had 4 years and 8 months suspended.

Our police officers arrest them, they go to court and get their hands slapped and right back on the highway they go, drunk. I often wonder how it makes our police officers feel - they put their life on the line every day to protect us;they arrest these convicts and then nothing happens to the scum-bags. Wake up Virginia - get the drunks off the roads and jail them!!!

Until your family has been ripped apart by drunk driving as my family has- a drunk 16 year old killed my sister & best friend- you have no clue how it feels. The judges should have to go & tell the victims families that their loved one is gone because of a repeat offender- because they let them go. We need to crack down on this- you can't just take license away- that don't stop them. put them in jail where they belong. where they can't rip apart any other families. I wouldn't wish that on my biggest enemy. get it together people.. please. thankfully the guy hit will be ok.

My question is why was she still driving? She should have been in jail...this type of behavior has gone on long enough lives are being lost everyday, families are being torned apart. This is so so sad. Hope the young man who was hit will be okay....

I lost a family member to a drunk driver. I think alcohol is evil. I don't understand why it's not illegal. What purpose does it serve? The person that killed my mother I'm sure was addicted and couldn't stop or he wouldn't have done this. Spending years in jail is not on anyones mind when they decide to drive home after a party . Companies and the public at large need to make drinking as un PC as smoking and this problem will
disappear. As for anyone with 3 DUI's, yes, throw away the key. Society can't help them.
