Full story: WTVR

State budget cuts will affect just about every Virginian. But there's one thing state employees don't have to worry about being cut... their Viagra supply.

I think insurance should cover part of the "magic blue pill" but not all of it. I mean by not having it doesn't put your health at risk so I can see the argument that it shouldn't be covered.

Kaine proposed cutting those payments...it was the GOP who kept them so I would assume the GA has a vested interest, not Kaine

Viagra and Estrogen - no sex discrimination. Also, birth control pill and morning-after pill and condoms. Tubal and vasectomy. No insurance, no problem - Medicaid or whatever it needs to be called socialized medicine. Male and female = equal!

Viagra and Estrogen are completely different. Many women NEED to be on estrogen for health reasons.

Birth Control pills, etc okay because it can end up saving the money anyways (i.e. if you have a baby then the baby would now be on the insurance also and cost more money). Also some women NEED to be on birth control for medical reasons also.

If it is for HEALTH or if it will save money in the long run then it should be covered but Viagra will not save money nor will it correct or prevent any health problems.

This makes me sick! We are in the process of closing schools but the state employees are still going to be able to have their sex! I guess it's more important than our next generation getting an education, huh? No wonder our political system is going down the drain and no one trust it. It is because of stunts like this. They only care about themselves, they obviously couldn't care less about the kids in school, the school system or anything else. What a sad, sad world we live in. I hope you state employees are proud of yourselves. I'm sure not!

With the sex scandals in our government, we really need this!? I think the men in American society need to find another past time. As far as I'm concerned, what's going on in American politics is a embarresment to me on a world level.
If I was a parent of a school in the Richmond area that was talking about closing, I'd be looking for the politicians who voted this in. I also don't need to hear it's part of the budget. Politicians have had no trouble dipping into social security on a federal level or the VA state pension for something other than what it was intended for!
THIS SHOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER ANY INSURANCE!

As someone who is self employed and can barely afford insurance that only covers if something catastrophic should happen to me. It upsets me that i am paying tax money that gives men such benefits.

Are you freaking kidding me!!! This is where our money is going?? We cut the school budget, jobs, police protection, etc but we fund erectile drugs?!?!?! Am I the only one that sees something wrong here?? The whole world can come to a screatching halt but God forbid a man can't get or keep an erection!!! I am so sick of these politicians and their connections to drug companies and big corporations. And I hear that Gov McDonnell wants to give income tax breaks to local companies even though one of his big contributors outsource an entire floor of workers to Manilla and Mexico. When are these politicians going to "get it" that they are supposed to work for the PEOPLE of the United States...NOT the corporations. I was never a fan of anti-government militia groups but I can see now why they exist. Out government is out of control and it needs to be cleaned out. They lie, cheat and manipulate for their own agenda....usually money in thier pockets. The US may have been the best country in the world at one time but greed and politics is going to be its demise!!

Whoa, whoa, folks. The State of Virginia's employee insurance carrier doesn't pay for the drug in it's entirety. There is a patient co-pay. Which, I would estimate to be between $25.00 & $45.00 per refill.

I have used http://goodgeneric.com for about 3 years and find their products to be reliable and speedily delivered. The Support team are very promt and helpful in solving any issues that arise, caused by my errors not the company's. I was a little sceptical initially about buying generic products rather than brand names. However, the Mens' Health products I have bought have been equally as efficatious as the brand names at a fraction of the cost.
