our family loves the BowTie movie theater. We live in the Eastend of Henrico and now we don't have to go across town. I have let my teen go on dates to that theater since it's not that far from home. We also love they have movies and memosa's on the weekends with older movies.I'd like to see the mom with kids movies like they have at other locations so I could take my 4 year old. All in All we love it keep up the good work.

yeah that theater's great if you want to hear a million people talking throughout the movie about "how wasted they are" and what they're plans are after the movie during the movie!!

I knew Movieland would be a success for a couple or reasons, one is that there are no movie theaters in the immediate area, they offer a little bit different atmosphere that's unique to them and location, location, location.

They do that at all theaters.

I live within walking distance of the Short Pump theatres but I hate going there. Between the parking (or lack thereof) and the mass amounts of rude teenagers, it's just not worth it. I'd rather drive the 15 minutes to Movieland. It has beautiful architecture and really preserved the spirit of what used to be part of the railway.

Once you check the crime map and see the number of murders and robberies within one mile of this cinema house, you might change your mind.

Case in point: http://www.wtvr.com/news/wtvr-teen-party-shoo...

“Teen shot in leg.”

Also, check out the homeless camp less than 500 yards to the east in the woods.

Yes, the area is improving, and I wish them well, but it has a long way to go before I drive in from the county.

Tazdad, the Boulevard is not Baghdad. You have more of a chance of getting into a car accident on the way to the theater than getting robbed and murdered going to the movies. But please stay in the county, we don't need you to come here. There are plenty of people in the city to support Movieland. Many of them walk or ride bikes believe it or not. How many have died again?

I have worked in this area for 15 years. As I said, I wish them well and admit it is a good location for Fan residents, but people should check the crime map and know what they can expect.

During construction, the Homeless attempted to wander in all the time. They cut through the parking lot all of the time. There is a camp just east in the woods by the Railroad tracks.

Go look for yourself.

Better chance of a fender bender than robbed and murdered?? Do those stats hold up against the fender bender if you were just robbed or just murdered??

Truth is that area is an eye sore. The Braves left because they could not get enough of you patrons to ride your bike to the game?? Oh I get it Baseball is American and you prefer soccer ( Communist kickball ). Funny how a DUI automaticly makes you a green liberal that chooses to save the earth. Truth is you got no DMV credentials. Ride your bike to ASAP and get your privelegeback and get off your rear end. Otherwise sell your modifide mountain bike and buy yourself some bus tokens. Either way nobody cares.

I saw the TV spot on racial diversity in Virginia judicial system. The reporter presented a totally biased view point. She ignored the fact that Virginia has more diversity than just blacks. A very misinformed piece of journalism.

That is not now, and has not been a good area to send your children.

There has not been a time in the last 15 years that there have been less than 3 murders within 1/2 mile and countless robberies and assaults.

The homeless camp just past the end of the parking lot in the woods was the scene last year of a brutal assault and murder.

I would recommend any other theater including the Byrd for safety!

If your kids can't defend themselves, maybe you need to stay in the suburbs. Ppl. like you can always find fault at the drop of a hat. I implore you never to visit Kings Dominion, the State Fair or even Disney World. Just stay home with your scardy cat self.

The Byrd? Where would one park, in the alley? You're too stupid to channel someone elsewhere.
