Why is Village paying $5000 for Mayor's TIPS (The Beverage Alcohol Sellers and Servers Education and Training) as he is the Liquor Commissioner(budget page 287). He can take this training in his office on his computer for only $40?!?!?!

You really are stupid. That is the cost of running the program and for the materials to train servers and workers at stores. Not to train the mayor. Wow you will distort anything.

So my facts about the gold plated health insurance for Noak and his merry band of Trustees must be correct. No one has disputed them with written facts and figures.

There are a lot of people who don't make 21,000 a year but the Trustees are getting health insurance that costs this much.

Shameful.

Please don't forget, all of Trustees have full time jobs, no insurance there?

I stand corrected. Noak and the current board approved 133,100 for health insurance for the six Trustees. Includes dental and vision.
This is what is wrong not just in Romeoville
Salaries of our Trustees are lower than insurance
Shame on you noak, shame on you.

Now that you've dug yourself into a huge hole on this issue. You might want to check your facts. The mayor and boards salaries and benefits have not been increase while current mayor and board have been in charge. Guess what... that means your buddies and their friends are the ones that created the current benefits! Oooops! Guess you didn't see that coming.

We hear this way too many times from our mayor.
"This is not my doing, it was that bad guy before me"
Guess what, when you chose to run for office, you take on all good and all bad that was before you.
But I guess you did not know that...

As a full time Mayor, does anyone know what Noak does other than Facebook (check the times of his postings) or to be on Topix with any one of his 8-10 phones names?

Romeo, you keep talking about 2013 being the year of some much needed change. What exactly needs to change about Romeoville that isn't already in the works right now due to our current Mayor? Please do let us all know what you are SO disgruntled about and why you think Romeoville will be better off being led by somebody other than Noak. And quit crying about salaries, health care, and 'shadiness.' You know d*mn well that a new mayor and his minions would make the SAME income, if not more (you know, due to inflation because government workers still get those fluff raises). I've been a lifelong resident and I can tell you for certain that the redesigned library, abolishment of Crazy Rock and movement towards beautifying 'downtown' Romeoville are GREAT accomplishments of our current Mayor. You mean to tell me that an ex-Mayor (EX for a reason) or a washed up ex-pro football player with NO political knowledge whatsoever who runs a bar and favors adding a strip club to our town are better choices than Noak? Come on now.

Are you saying that we as residents of Romeoville should be okay with our ribbon cutting Mayor making 79,000 a year plus 27,000 a year in health care benefits? This is a town of low income people. Did you think that we were stupid and wouldn't find out about Noak and the Trustees benefits??

It was Fred Dewald that pushed for the current pay and benefits, not the current mayor. That was set well before Noak ever became mayor. This was well known before the last election. And it was Mongo's partner that helped push the current benefits when he was on the board. The only one that is left from when the current benefits were created is Palmiter. Everyone else had nothing to do with setting the current benefits. Get your story straight.

Furthermore, almost half the full-time village employees make more salary than the mayor does.

And let's look at the other area full-time mayors like Roger Claar that makes almost TWICE as much as our mayor and gets way more benefits than ours does. In fact, Bolingbrook has to pay for all Claar's out of pocket medical expenses on top of his insurance.

In fact, Noak makes less since becoming mayor than he did before. This was well covered when you tried to make a big deal out of it four years ago and it didn't work then either. Stop trying to stir up old news.

Helllooo??! Nobody is answering my question. Quit b*tching about salaries. I haven't fact-checked, but if the 79,000 salary plus benefits is correct then I think that amount is well deserved for RUNNING A SUCCESSFUL TOWN. As far as benefits go...have you ever payed attention to your employer's contribution to your heathcare cost??? For example, I contribute roughly $400/month, my employer covers the other $1600/month. For mediocre coverage at that. GASP!!!! You mean MY healthcare costs around 24k/year....not far from how much Noak's coverage is???? Oh man, I feel guilty now. Guess me, my spouse, and child do not deserve decent healthcare coverage for all of my hard work at my company. Furthermore, You really think a new mayor is going to settle for less than the current Mayor's benefits? Get real! Tell me why one of the other 2 candidates will be better for Romeoville than Noak. That is all I ask. Nobody on any of this Topix threads have provided any clear, coherent, persuasive arguments as to why educated Romeoville voters should choose anybody other than Noak. And quit drinking the 'Greedy Noak is stealing money from us poor, lowly residents' kool-aid. If I recall correctly, our property taxes haven't increased much at all yet our town has been booming.

The Romeoville Humane Society laughs at the village and thanks John for his donations from his campaign funds. The village says it has nothing to do with the humane society but has printed posters, designed their logo and puts them on their web page.Heck he should read about the humane society here on topix. Mismanaged and can't keep any supporters.Heck they even have trapped and released feral cats for the mayor and his wife. As their secretary says we need to milk John for all we can.

Seriously keep your humane society internal nonsense on that thread. Who cares if the village or the mayor donated something to them. Its still an independently run organization. Its up to the members to fix it.
