When you have misguided priorities and are ignorant to the fact that a solid education system is a key component to a progressive, thriving, community, then you can't get shell shocked when your town goes to crap with dollar stores and tattoo parlors because your number one priority is the illusion of lower taxes. I can't wait for strip joints to infest Lockport.
What this town needs is a couple of stripclubs.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you the same Hardliner that was vehemently against a new high school in the area? If so, then you are feverishly contributing to the downfall of Lockport and I hope you get what you deserve.
Now somebody queue the Sanford and son music- which is the new Lockport theme song.
Thank you for reminding me that it’s not all bad. The holiday season is a time to take stock in our lives and to appreciate the things that matter like good family, health and fiscal responsibility. Imagine if we didn’t vote down the high school referendum the six times we did. The Central Campus would be a vacant eyesore and liability to go along with the burnt out buildings in our downtown. My real estate taxes would probably be approaching $15,000.00 per year and we would have a half empty cash draining mega campus on Cedar Road with all of graft that goes along with it. Once again thanks for helping me remember the good things. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We can't forget the good times of "referendums past". You know that this will come again and our juices will be stirred. Just thinking about the future election in Lockport brings back the memories of those referendums. Thankfully the elections only come every two years. The referendums seemed to come weekly. I don't think the public has the intestinal fortitude to withstand another referendum any time soon. We must deal with WIN (what's important now).

People need to read this. This is a great lesson of how uneducated people process and deduce information.

You seem like you can string together fairly cohesive sentences, so I am going to say that you're not an unintelligent person. Sheltered and small minded, definitely, but not dumb.

I want you to take a step back and try to deploy yourself from all of the fear mongering. The world is not going to end. The economy is growing as we speak. Halting all progress is not a way to prosper as a town.
Contemplating that we keep and maintain a 100 year old building so that we don't have an empty building in town just leaves us with a stale old town that will expedite all of your fears of turning into Harvey.

If you like the way Lockport is turning into, then keep doing what you're doing, but if you want a thriving prosperous town, then you have to invest in the future.

Development in this town has stalled since Turner took control of the city council. He has embarrassed us and no reputable developer will invest dollars here anymore.

He is NOT the mayor..and does NOT control the council. Mayor Veto takes care of stifling ANYTHING that may jump start the enormous work that MUST be done in this town BEFORE any reputable developer comes here to develop anything. 50 years of doing nothing by every council put Lockport where it is today....not just the last 18 months ! Wake the hell up !

The people have awakened and will not support the "Slimys" in the council. That's the story Chum and they will continue to beat that drum from now until April 2013.

I have seen the light. It is clear as day now that voting down the high school vanity project not only left Lockport with incompetent leadership but more than likely was responsible for the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history, Lehman Brothers. I guess it is true what they say about a butterfly flapping its wings in China. Who knew?

EVERY incumbent must be voted out, they are all terrible. No matter which side you are on, each side has clearly demonstrated that they are too inexperienced and unprofessional to compromise or act intelligent enough to make any forward progress. Send them a message and vote every single incumbent out. New people could not possibly be worse than what we have, and maybe we can even get things done. Why are we letting these dummies collect a paycheck on our dime for doing absolutely nothing but embarassing our town?

This sounds like an an add for Samantha Neitske. Isn't she a "cat lady"? I hope she is not trying to get an edge by voting out the incumbent in the 3rd Ward? Tom Kelley would not be happy! Don't worry Tom, Samantha and Balisch "have your back". You can trust them, just like we trust all you "Slimy Four", to do what is right in Lockport.

Chum I disagree a little on this one. It certainly appears that he controls this majority. I've sat at the meetings and have watched the signals (nodding to each other when unsure which way to vote. Mainly Marinowski. I've seen it first hand. I also sat behind
wo of the reps from ML REALTY around Aug last year and they even said businesses would stay away due to the majorities views. No one has to believe it but that is what the man told me. I'm sure the yelling and screaming on both sides didn't help either.

i would rather have the 100 year old building in lockport, that is the history of lockport, than have some transplant pinheads that come into our town and tell us whats best for lockport, because they have lived here for 10 years. why dont u take your little limp wrist and go back where u came from

ML Realty got their warehouse deal....with votes from this and previous councils. They should just shut up and worry about filling up those gigantic mauseleums so Lockport and the school system can get the taxes due. ML Realty is big across the country. They don't get that big by bad mouthing towns like Lockport where they want and need to do business. So if you heard that....bring those comments up to the Mayor and the City Council. I'm sure they would love to hear what they have to say !! Be sure to name names....maybe at a public comment segment of a meeting !!

I try not to go into Robbins... err.. I mean Lockport, but I found myself in an unfortunate position where I had the enter the town over the weekend and happend to drive past the high school "freshman center". Forget about housing students there, they need to board that dump up! What a hell hole!

Agreed. And who "drives by" Central Campus on the way through town? It's in the middle of a residential area.
The guy is a moron who should worry about Chicago problems; How's that violence on the West Side going for you?
