I would, as long as the administrators don't allow all of the swimming clubs to use the pool facilities during prime time. I really hate it when my tax dollars subsidize private organizations.

You seem to have missed several points. A pool won't bring in the amount of traffic that is needed to sustain the downtown redevelopment. A large aquatic center is what would be needed and there simply isn't enough space for one in that area with parking and still have shops. And even then an aquatic center would cost over twice as much and have far more ongoing overhead. Also there are already several outdoor community pools in romeoville that are under utilized. Additionally there are numerous indoor pools and aquatic centers in a short distance from this site that would be competition. Most of those facilities already lose money.
Also your tax dollars aren't being used to build these projects. TIF district funds are that come from the businesses in that area are funding it. However in order to run any government pool anywhere around here would mean that hundreds of thousands of your tax dollars would have to be used to subsidize operations because a TIF can not pay for that.
I hope that clears up a few things about why a pool won't work there. The school district should build one at RHS instead and make it open to the community as well.
