<quoted text>Your delivery company remains ComEd.

The company your town designated as its supplier is First Energy.

Every town / city / business / individual person... in IL is eligible to do this. A town can choose to go it alone or can band together with other towns to increase their kilowatt hours used. The more kwh used, the lower the $/kwh First Energy will offer.
I understand all of that. So basically we do nothing. What are the negotiated rates then. And do we just watch out bill go down. Seems odd. But I guess makes sense.

Not trying to be ignorant to people or argue, just suggesting that everyone make sure their equipment is functioning properly. The highest bill I have had in a year from com ed was 155, and that was January.
Wow a double wide. Good for you butt plug.

Yes, your account is being automatically enrolled. You should see a decrease in the $/kwh for the supply portion of your bill within a few months. I'm not sure how long they'll take to implement the program.

The rate First Energy or Energy First offered was somewhere around $0.04/kwh. It's in the article...

It's really not odd at all. Instead of paying ComEd to turn around and pay 30 or so suppliers in IL. Your group of towns aggregated their electricity usage and asked suppliers to bid on being designated as the sole supplier. They get 100% of $0.04/kwh instead of some much lower % of $0.082/kwh.
