Well there you go New Lenox...as I predicted Just Wait...... 80g`s AND commuting fees. Shorewood wasn`t going to have that garbage but you took it hook line and sinker. Has to make you wonder what she has on the New Village Administrator who recommended her and this Mayor of yours.. Shorewood Thanks You for taking this under qualified and over paid employee off their hands. Actually both of them!:)

And we get to pay for her travel expenses.

Who's the Einstein who agreed to this plan?

What does Shorewood have that's so great that we had to have HER?!

What other candidates were even considered?

This is dirty politics. Bad bad move Tim. Your last term for sure for anything in this town.

I understand she and her older children live in the area, but her new husband has a house out of state that he's trying to sell so she is commuting back and forth right now. I also understand even with travel expenses she makes muchlike 20K less than the last guy who did practically nothing and she is the one who got Shorewood and all the business owners through the ugly construction on 59 and new business in. I don't think the new administrator would bring anyone on that would make him fail. Normally you bring strong associates over with you to make yourself look good. So since she's cheaper than the last guy, has experience in working with business under stress with construction conflicts, and has a good work ethic, I would say it may not be as bad as it sounds. It's definately unorthodox, but it's not costing us more to find out.

I find this to be shocking in these time. I am shocked the Village Trustee's approved this. I mean, "Economic Development of NL"? In these times? Let alone a virtual employee living in Texas?

What happened to Dave Smith and Ray Tuminello? First a NK sales tax increase and now this decision? Tim must have pictures of those two with a Goat or something? And it must be an ugly Goat at that I think?

Tuminello is running for Will County Board? I think these two actions in NL will cost him any chance at all of being elected there!

These guys need to come out publically and confess their sins! Maybe we need to create a "Wall Of Shame" in the Village Hall to put pictures of our elected officials who do things like this?

Where is her husband employed, Texas or Illinois? Are you saying her new husband is moving to Illinois after the sale of his home? If this is only a temporary situation why didn't the mayor and village board share this information with the residents of New Lenox? As far as her making less than the last guy I would assume that is because she is able to work from home the majority of the time and the village is paying for her travel expenses. The whole story makes no sense at all. Hire someone who can be here at all times not someone who has to travel over 1000 miles to get to work.

We don't need the position. We're in a recession and government's inability and unwillingness to cease being a burden on taxpayers will keep us down. The mayor or administrator can and should do the job.

We have government parasites keeping unneeded positions opened at taxpayers' expense.

Exactly. There seems to be a lot of glossed over concerns by Balderman's statement in the Patch. I think it all smells very fishy!

The mayor and board had to know this would not sit well with the community. He should have been up front about her living situation. If she is moving back then say that. Although, with the housing market, how soon they can sell thier house there and actually move here is a big question/concern.

What did she do in Shorewood that made her so indispensible to NL? REally, Tim, share that with us taxpayers!!!!

That is REAL BS. Most of us are just making it to start with and the Mayor is spending our money like it is nothing. Oh it is nothing to him. What a jerk. He is NOT looking out for our interest AT ALL. Get him out of office,

There is no rational way to explain an absentee economic development director who is supposed to be on the ground able to meet with prospects and business people. So there must be an irrational explanation that involves some sort of favoritism, trickery or just plain dirty dealing. I never saw this position advertised or opened for application, so it apparently was a done deal in a back room.

BINGO!!! What bugs me is when you see Tim, he acts all nice and friendly, and on TV seems to be Mr. Nice Guy, then this kind of crap happens and you start to wonder...who is the real Mayor Baldermann?

If you were opening a business, wouldn't you want to be here everyday to oversee the development? Would you move to Texas and run it long distance with only several tiring commutes bringing you to town? What a stupid, crazy scenario.

Dump this plan, Tim. It stinks to high heaven.
