Looks like another guy is jumping ship! Schloneger has taken his same position in Algonquin. I don't blame him a bit. I'm sure Turner will suggest Robinson has someone to fill his spot

How many staff members does that make this? engineer, planner, police chief, finance director, public works director...any more? There is no way Turner gets elected with this record.

It's about time! Our gain is Algonquin's loss. Clearly someone has to be held accountable for the cluster #%&@ at city hall and for why we can't get commercial businesses to come to this town.

A clean sweep could be a good thing. Embrace change, sometimes it is for the best.

Completely agree with the sentiments above. I have participated in a few projects where Tim was involved and he always did an amazing job of looking out for Lockport while staying out of the political quagmire our town is mired in. I even asked him why he would continue to work here as he was obviously qualified to work somewhere else where he wouldn't have to deal with the Mickey Mouse operation that is our current city council.

Let the party begin. Good ridence, Good Bye. Lets see, Lemont didn't want him back, Lockport took him in like a stepchild, and now Good Luck to Algonquin. Leaves a trail of destruction and no growth behind him again. Lemont had everything going for it as well, until Tim had his hands in the cookie jar. Sure there was a housing crisis, etc, but surrounding communities continued to improve. Doesn't mean that Tim has to take full responsibility for the entire mess, that rides on the council members, mayor etc. So remember, come election, don't vote for anyone currently sitting in office. The city administrator job should be elected as well. Lets hope the next person actually lives and pays taxes in this town.

So I guess we can blame you for giving him the idea to leave?

Good for him to get out while he could. That guy is no dummy and he is leaving for a town that bigger and richer. The elected officials have always been a problem in this town. Even with the bad economy, a stable city council could still have attracted business. What developer is going to spend money trying to get plans approved only to be jerked around by the city council? As far as living in the city, why would anyone want to when they are faced with losing their job every time there is an election? Word will get around and any professional staff the city tries to hire will either be inexperienced or expensive. It's a proven fact that consultants are twice as expensive, which means we will pay more for them or have them only half the time.

Notice he was the last of the last to go. When you have to cow down all the time you don't do your best work. You are under pressure. This guy was a smart guy and a great asset to our community. Watch now and see that Robinson will have a person to replace him. It is coming. They have it all thought out! There is a reason when all go! Would you really want to work under those conditions if you were sane? Nobody would!

He is smart and too smart to take crap forever! He can go where he is respected and the people run a real business meeting based on Robert's Rules. This place is a comedy version with a self absorbed person wanting power running it. Karma is watching

This is turning into the "acting" city. Acting public works director, acting police chief, interim community development director, acting planner, and now an acting administrator. No wonder nobody wants to invest here. The city won't even invest in itself and give staff the security of permanent jobs.

Evidently he was not good in Lemont since they didn't give him a permanent job either. Again this is the best thing to happen since the day the city hired him. Good bye Good ridence. There will be another community to take in him, like a stray cat. Only after awhile will he leave that town, when his BS is seen thru.

Not quite sure I agree with this premise. I believe there would be more opportunity for graft and corruption by electing a City Administrator. Additionally, an elected City Administrator would be beholden to that party that worked to get him or her elected. The City Administrator should be a neutral party in the political fights but have the best interest of the City at heart. He or she should be overseeing the day to day operations of the City and not be concerned about the next election.

You ain't kidding. You need somebody to blame that you hate and you are running out of politicians and staffers as they leave...pretty soon the only people left holding the steering wheel will be all your buddies who you support. Have no fear though, you are no friend of the truth.

My feeling is that any city department head should live within the city boundaries and have skin in the game. Additionally, any elected official should be mandated to have contact information listed on the city's website and should have to respond to any resident inquiry within one business day. I wrote an email to Ald. Kelly over two years ago and have not gotten any response from him. I understand well that FIOA request have there own place and requirements, but a simple question or comment should elicit a response in a business day.

This has been his practice for YEARS. He is not interested in what anyone has to say unless you agree with his view on something. COMPROMISE is not in his vocabulary.
