It wouldn't help. They have the election rigged in Will County. That explains how all these theives stay in office.

Public service takes a lot of personal time! Reading up on materials, studying, attending meetings, etc. I am an official in another town and it takes a lot out of my family and work time to do the job I do for the town. Much of it is unappreciated. But in my heart, I know I do the right thing. I should have read the story before posting, but how much of a raise?

So Public officials never deserve a raise? I agree With Love Dogs. Public service is not easy. The mayor of Shorewood is an outstanding man. He is honest and cares about the people and his community. He has worked fulltime hours for a parttime job, and payed peanuts. At one time it was around 1,500 a year.

As for you John Barleycorn whether your a salesmen, landscaper, enigineer or what ever maybe you shouldnt get a raise because I dont want to pay more for your services or products related to your work.

I've seen Wisnewski at a lot of Political Parties (Rep & Dem). The guy sits by himself and eats all the food. The guy is freaky. I read last year in the Sun how abused his wife and kids. I'm shocked to hear he even gets invited to these events.

I've never seen Mike with a girl in public ever.

Unless you count the wives of Mayors and Trustees.

R U Saying Wisniewski abused his wife while she had cancer and then divorced her - the guy is lower than a freak. His new GF must be a blow up Hillary Clinton Doll.

So how did the Trustee that is running for Senate vote?

Hey, Plainfield village trustees just gave the next village president or as the past couple of the officeholders, including the current officeholder like to be called "mayor" after the next consolidated election a raise from $12,000 to $20,000...for a "part time" job.
“Mayor” Collins, himself, is retired and getting a nice STATE pension.
Shorewood Village President Chapman is also retired and getting a nice pension from a major oil company.
I am sure both these gentlemen work hard and love the towns they head, but why a raise??
Both are card carrying republicans and this is probably why they have no feelings when a working employee gets axed because there is no money. But I am sure they will both be smiling at the next photo op!
It’s a very sad state of affairs in both the villages of Plainfield and Shorewood.

I agree. I thanked Trustee Rippy and Peck for voting against the Plainfield Mayor's pay increase.

But it still passed, which is why the republicans on BOTH boards seem to stand up for different ideals. And the majority of local republican village board members still do what is good for them, but are still oblivious to what is the current state of the economy and the working middle class.

Yes... If only these Republicans could be more like the responsible Democrats on the Chicago and Joliet Counsels. Thank God the Dems are in touch with their constituents. At least Plainfield and Shorewood aren't raising taxes the way that Joliet and Chicago are. But, way to try and blame the GOP.
