Dear editor,
Politics and civic activities are interchangeable within a community, because they pertain to local government, and the people in that town. The principle of separation of church and state, was carefully thought out for good reason. There can be no blurring of the lines between religious and political activities; even the hint of cloaking politics with religiious endorsement is nefarious, and misleading, because unwitting citizens can be duped. Civic association leaders and members of such an organization have the responsibility to cease meeting in any church, so as not to give the impression of religious endorsement of their political viewpoints.
The Wading River Civic Association, because they meet at the Wading River Congregational Church, give the impression of de-facto endorsement by the Congregational Church. The Wading River Civic Association has the responsibility to quit meeting at the church, and to assemble at a suitable non-sectarian location, the same as any political organization.

To the Wading River Civic Association
GET LOST - DISAPPEAR

Dear editor,

The Civic Association has lost its right to speak for the taxpayers of Wading River. Taxes have tripled in the past 15 years you came upon the scene so actively. The quality of our lives has diminshed, less money in our pockets, 30 homes for sale in this area, families fleeing faster than ever; yet your leader grins vacuously on News 12, as though everything is just peachy. You are a rubber stamp for an incompetent school board, elected (zombies) who bow to the teachers union, where spending tax money like water never ends.
Name to the public one tangible benefit your organization has contributed,(other than duck pond day) to ease our tax burden. The only sitting ducks in Wading River are the (saps) taxpayers, ready to be plucked in the town square!
Connect the dots, Wading River inhabitants will only be the ducks, because its people are being forced out by more and more taxes; yet you never hold any elected officials accountable.
Nobody invited you, nobody elected you, nobody hired you, and now because you are no help, nobody wants you. If you civic people are not red-faced in outrage, then get lost!! Your monthly tea party with local politicians, has produced no results. We don't want you anywhere near the politicians who control our hard earned tax dollars; you have lost your credibility, SO PLEASE DISBAND AND DISAPPEAR!!!
Political power comes from a democratic election, period. Your days of righteous hegemony are under scrutiny, and the end result proves you have accomplished nothing good or positive for the people of Wading River. You may think your personal agenda has been the consensus of everyone; but whne it comes down to dollars and cents, your little group is like NERO who fiddles while ROME burns, too costly for our families to endure anymore. You meet in the Wading River Congregational Church, if you are not protestants then you must be (MOR?ONS)!!! Whatever happened to separation of Church and State, de-facto politics? Perhaps you are offering "spiritual advisement", like Sid Bail, your leader stated in the Beacon-Record Newspaper; we don"t want you meddling anymore!! All you do is pit one neighbor against the other, your monthly forum is a springboard for political power!
