Illegals, gangbangers, druggies, and the Brave Mayors sitting behind a desk takes the guns away. A solution. DO NOT hand out any summones in any compromised situation. Just look the other way. Let the quality of life get even worst.

There's always 1 in the crowd. What's with this Terry? He thinks because they used to carry guns and now don't have them negates all the lawbreakers that paid their fines, etc. Perhaps he was a disgruntled violator. Judge should not even entertain his idiotic idea.

Arm these people to the teeth.

Given the new breed of trash that has begun taking over Long Island, it is time that these civil servants be armed; everywhere, all of the time.

It is unfortunate that it is coming to this but we are faced with an increasing large group of dirtbags who only understand violence.

Since the police and the lawyers and insurance companies have taken away our right to protect ourselves, since these same entities have taken away our right to crush bullies and dirtbags; the least we can do is allow these non-police entities to protect themselves against this dreaded hoard of destroyers.

Repeal the Gun Laws,
Repeal the Taser Laws,
Repeal the Pepper Spray Laws; etc; etc;

Put the lawyers, police and insurance companies back in their place and give citizens back the right to protect themselves and their communities.

So you are advocating not doing the job you are paid to do. Nice example you want to set. You got kids?

JUST DO IT....your job that is!

There is no need for the square shield security/code officers to be armed.

Good move saving the taxpayers $.

This was the way the power boys got their friends a job when they couldn't pass the police test! They started the bogus police force and said the cops were too buisy to give out tickets! There is no reason in hell to arm these guys! I would think that having all those guns in the hands of wannabys would make liability an issue! And if they insist they won't give out tickets without weapons then fire their sorry butts!

Anybody remember Tony Noto, Former Supervisor of the TOB. He tried to get a gun permit, and when he was denied, his answer was to give all his Public Safety Officers guns. He deputized himself, and gave himself the Babge Number 007. True story.

At least these guys do something unlike the lazy useless and inept Suffolk County Police.

Actually, if the Suffolk County Police would assign more then 1 or 2 officers to a community then we wouldent need these "code enforcement officers"/"public safety".

You guys are hilarious. Patchogue is certainly safe. Especially considering it is a hub of activity here on eastern Long Island. I live in Springs, and go to Patchogue maybe a couple times a month. And gimme a break about the "illegals", no community on Long Island is devoid of them and in Patchogue they are not of the dangerous gang-related kind. I'm not saying I'm happy with the current state of illegal aliens on Long Island but dont blame them for all the crime. Patchogue is safe, maybe youre thinking of places like Brentwood, Central Islip or Huntington Station where 2nd generation latinos have taken over and gang crime has skyrocketed. Not in Patchogue.

As with many lawsuits. Its all about the money. Even if they have broken the law. I agree with you but sadly there is normally more than 1 in the crowd.

H.Terry is just another blood sucker My guess is he's a bottom feeder lawyer. Great US, the only country allowing such bull$$$$ lawsuits making the lawyers rich. Sure, sue your own municipality and everyone pays you in their taxes. A H!

No need to arm these idiots.
No need to really have this department. Let SCPD handle these violations

Arm them.

And let law-abiding citizens carry their own firearms too.

Over 35 states have conceal-and-carry laws - crime did not go up - it went down in everyone.

It's not the wild west.

It's responsible citizenship.

I rememer Patchogue in the early 70's. What a nice east end village. That all changed with the change in the people. You need a gun in that town now. It will NEVER be the same
