Four teens arrested Wednesday in connection with home burglaries in Selden, Miller Place, Port Jefferson and the Setauket area since Feb. 21 are suspects in "at least a half-dozen" other break-ins, Suffolk County police said.

Arrested Wednesday were Colleen Elam, 18, of 25 Urban Dr., Selden; Maurice Jones, 18, of 5 Harrison Ave., Centereach; Sion Sosa, 17, of 37 Van Buren Ave., Centereach; and Loften.

Four teens have been arrested for burglarizing several residences in the Selden, Setauket, Miller Place and Port Jefferson areas since February

Suffolk County police officers arrested three men and a woman as they fled after committing a burglary of a residence in the East Setauket area at approximately 12:10 p.m. Wednesday. Three of the suspects were arrested when their vehicle was stopped on Black Locust Avenue in East Setauket, police say. The fourth suspect fled on foot and was later arrested as he hid in a shed behind a residence on Partridge Lane.

Further investigation by Sixth Squad detectives revealed the subjects were responsible for multiple residential burglaries dating back to February 21.

Colleen Elam, 18, of Selden, was charged with four counts of Burglary 2nd Degree and one count of Possession of Burglarís Tools. Maurice Jones, 18, of Centereach, was charged with four counts of Burglary, 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest and one count of Possession of Burglarís Tools. Sion Sosa, 17, of Centereach, was charged with five counts of Burglary 2nd Degree, Criminal Mischief 4th Degree, Criminal Trespass 3rd Degree and one count of Possession of Burglarís Tools. Darnell Loften, 19, of Middle Island, was charged with six counts of Burglary 2nd Degree and one count of Possession of Burglarís Tools.

All four people are scheduled to be arraigned Thursday at First District Court in Central Islip.

The detectives are continuing to investigate whether the four were involved in other burglaries in the area. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Sixth Squad.

Jeffrey Iarocci, 39, and Michael Wehle, 42, of Selden, were arrested Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, charged with distributing what State Police said are believed to be "thousands of bags of heroin" on a monthly basis in Suffolk County. They were each charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal sale of a controlled substance, loitering, criminal possession of drug paraphernalia, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana, police said.

A Bohemia man faces criminal and wildlife charges after a drug investigation uncovered not just a cocaine and a marijuana-growing operation but a cache of dead and live animals, Suffolk police said Thursday.

Armed with a search warrant, narcotics detectives raided James Bizzaro's home at 1301 Sycamore Ave. on Dec. 2 and found about $40,000 worth of cocaine and marijuana, 60 marijuana plants
