My, vehicle was towed Thursday night and I found the place that towed it, which was City Wide Towing. I called and asked how much the tow was and the receptionist was not friendly by any means and she said cash is the only payment option. I called at 3:30 Friday afternoon to confirm that I could come get my vehicle and I never heard a response until I tracked another number to the owner on Saturday afternoon. Craig Brown the owner, said he had called me twice about the numerous messages I left one the business line. My phone never recieved any calls or messages about getting my vehicle back. When Craig met me at the garage Saturday afternoon after trying to get my vehicle since Friday morning. I was charged a ridiculous amount. When I told him that I should not be charged near that amount for what I have had to do to get my vehicle back. He tried to lock me out unless I paid the amount. He gave me a receipt, which he made no verification for his tax purposes. Craig Brown was very UNPROFESSIONAL and unethical by any legitimate professional business practices.

Be careful. Apparently they use SHERIFF'S DEPUTIES as accomplices when they steal your stuff. From another review:

"City wide towing along with a sheriff from the city of erie Came to reposess my vehicle and work trailer that was full of tools and the sheriff told me that the tools were not part of the repossesion and all I had to do is contact city wide towing and make arrangements to meet with city wide and abtain my tools back. City wide would not take my calls and would not call me back .And when I contacted the sheriff he was rude and told me there was nothing he could do and to this day I have not been able to get any response from them and found out that lyle sanders was selling my tools illegally . So they stole my tools a boat that was on top of the trailer , Thousands of dollars of MY belongings. As far as I am concerned city wide and the shheriffs office illegally took my stuff and sold it for there own monetery gain. WRONG < WRONG >..."

Craig Brown is a repo man - that is his job. If you losers would make your payments, then you would never have to meet him. Typically, he hooks up your car and then asks for your keys. If you give him your keys, h allows you to get your stuff out of the car. If you act like an ass, he just tows the car. This is pretty much standard practice in the repo business.

But again - pay your bill and quit complining when the repo guy comes to take the stuff you haven't paid for.

There have been other complaints about towing practices in the City of Erie and the exorbitant fees/fines. It seems like those folks are just watching for that person who says, "Oh, I'll just be a minute."
True, you must obey parking regulations, or you will pay the price (we have a friend who just had that experience.) And that price is meant to dissuade you from doing the illegal parking a second time, that's all well and good. But your vehicle should be made readily retrievable again - at least within a few hours -- for most people, it is a necessary part of their livelihood. I
For those who go through a 'repo'- God bless you! Our son went through that, no fun! At least he didn't lose any of his personal possessions other than the car. Thank God he learned that lesson too. I hope you get recompensed for the theft.
Have a better day!

I agree that if you pay your bill you'll never see the repo man. BUT...by law the bank/lender must return all property that is not related to the loan within two business days(48 hours). This responsibility is usually accepted by the repo company once they accept the repo job. Of course they are allowed to charge a storage fee if you don't pick up your stuff after two days. In this case it sounds like the lender or repo guy acting as their agent my have broken several laws.

Heinie's a 'rear-do' and, with a moniker like 'biff', we suspect you're like-hinded.

Sorry but the guy was arrogant and a jerk. I understand it's a business but you don't have to act or carry yourself the way this individual did. He's just looking for his next "victim" so he can hose them and make a quick buck. Yeah my son made a mistake parking where he should not have (cost him $200 to get his car back) but that doesn't give the owner a reason to act like he did. I will NEVER recommend him for anything. What goes around comes around.

Daily Horoscope for January 6

Taurus

Try to keep your energy a little bit more under control. If you scatter in all directions, you'll end up hot and bothered. Mars tends to rev up your engine, but an awkward aspect to Saturn will make everything go in stops and starts. As soon as you try to shift into higher gear you meet immovable objects at the moment, so the solution is to slow down. There are wonderful, uplifting influences hanging around as well as tricky ones, so just hang in there.
