On Jan. 22, Sean McCracken reported that Millcreek Township School District Superintendent Michael Golde is on administrative leave for “personal reasons” since Jan. 18.

No one is talking, and district employees said Golde’s leave might be discussed at the Millcreek School Board’s Jan. 28 meeting — 10 days after he left.

Another mystery brews. Officials referred questions to Tim Sennett, Millcreek Township attorney at the personnel, finance and operations meeting on Jan. 22.

See GoErie.com and read Sean McCracken’s update here for more details. Just a tidbit from McCracken’s story that caught my eye:“Golde is working under a five-year contract with the district that expires in 2014. His pay started at $155,000 a year and increased a maximum of 4 percent annually based on evaluations of his work.”

Golde is now on PAID leave and is unavailable for comment.

No New McDowell after all
http://www.erietvnews.com/story/20662735/no-n...

They know that Bio science charter is coming. Its possible that Golde knew he couldn't take on the charter people and NNM's tea bagging so he is just leaving in disgust. Yet again it looks VERY bad this comes on the heels of an audit.

They should have had Scutella as spokesmen a LONG time ago, he comes accross so much better than Palermo who acts more like a doorman to some club.

GINO--Oh Noses-- again you are no hero. You think by being loud and in your face obnoxious you can continue to spread more misinformation. Yes you and your group have every right to ask questions that lead to constructive discussion but you constantly look for conspiracy around every corner and accuse anyone who disagrees with you as being a board member /friend/ relative. You read like a tv soap opera. Seriously, if you want to be taken seriously, stop with the theatrics and join the discussion. Stop playing gossip!

Or how about buying rental property, or for family members, or as investments, or to help freinds, or as a project to work on, or to renovate and resell.

Scutella is up for election this year. What do you expect? He knows the majority dont want to spend 94 mil, but want the school to have the latest gadgets.

Why not have the Amish or migrant workers build new propreties, so you can get around paying construction workers who support the local economy?

Right, Gino?

Not sure what your point is but would not call decent science labs "the latest gadgets".

Great point. Science is the tool of the democrat party. We alone know the truth. Global warming is so very real and deadly. Those fetuses that teabaggers say are babies is the result of "junk science". Keep it up Larry. We need to spread the truth of Godless Marxism. It is the way "Forward".

Right, Gino?
So why do you think the McDowell consolidation was placed on hold? I think its something when people complain about high taxes after the fact. After the bill is in the mail. Seems to me like Gino was just trying to save Millcreek some money and keep our taxes from skyrocketing before sealed contracts were made.

Yeah, Gino he's a real bad guy :) lol

What if the school board actually has been listening to the public and reconsidering options all along just like they said? Seems you only hear what you want, Gino, and are looking to take credit for some make believe victory. Did the district take out the actual money needed for the consolidation? Dont think so. Are there plans in the works to move the field? Not according to the zoning board. Wasnt that supposed to start in February? What if the costs of that charter school was the straw that broke the camels back and the project is now out of reach, much like Scutella said? Hell no it ain't too late now, maybe just in the nick of time and maybe it had nothing to do with you at all. Sounds to me like sour grapes that now maybe you got nothing to sit on your high horse about, Gino. Maybe all you got left is bitching about what happened in the past. That is pretty easy for the public to ignore.

No he's not taking credit. Read what I posted under wilga's thread...I agree the charter school is killing this. They had no business doing this in the first place. They are due for some public humiliation...and surprisingly it won't even come from the NNM camp!!

The Millcreek Township School Board is its own worst enemy.

You can't even defend this inept school board, they couldn't even get variences for the restooms or parking lots. You people are up against more than just NNM. The left hand of the school board literally didn't even know that the right was up to this summer. Scutella completely contridicted Palermo. And guess what you people just lost more support because of it. Now Mary Ray is saying what a poor choice Palermo was to be the speaker for that board! Go figure. She said his fuse was too short. Really?

They listened? Now you are back padaling. Did they listen to the polls? Did they listen to Canfield's poll? Did they see the countless letters to the editor? 2,100 people on FB? Now 2,400 signatures and over 100 online in less than 24 hrs with the news of Golde's leave?

They did no such thing last summer. On July 30th you filled the entire audi at McDowell high, people did not want this then and they don't want it now. It is unresponsible!!

Now no one will EVER "Know New McDowell". We don't have the money!!

They denied the the charter school had anyting to do with it. But many months ago I said it did. Yet ANOTHER example of how much of a failure the board is and instead of listening it dug itself in deeper into defense mode. Saying that, "We were ganging up on them."-------

"Scutella can be as kind and charming as he likes. It is too late for that.

I was speaking to someone pushing the Bio Science charter school. The Charter school people were biting their nails because they did not want to be fused into the McDowell consolidation debate. Thats just too bad for them. They are part of the equation. We now heard out of Scutella's own mouth that if they lose the chater school battle the MTSD will lose millions in subsidies. So now the new Mcdowell project is under review.....

Any fool knows that the district only has a revenue flow of a set amount. For millcreek something near 90 million per year. The charter will be the first to take a piece of that pie.

No matter what spin the chater school people put on this they may have stopped that new school, but they don't want to take the blame on that I'm sure.

Follow the money."
