I have lived in Shively for 25 years, in the same neighborhood. There has never been much activity in my neighborhood until the past 5 years. There are drunken people walking around all hours of the night, I have had to call the P.D. to come get a few out of my yard, passed out. Some of the kids ages 7-16 have tried to jump other kids, including my son just because they were outside and they bad kids didn't like the way they looked, cops were called. The same kids have attempted to break into multiple houses and succeeded on one I know of for a fact. So my question is "Why do I never see police patrol through the neighborhood?" I have seen one Officer ride down my street in 3 weeks and fellow neighbors agree. As a matter of fact I hardly ever see Shively Police anywhere north of Moby Dick unless they are called. How are residents suppose to feel safe if there are never any authority figures visible?
