Retired New York City Fire Department Lt. Al Warta stepped to the lectern to read a letter from firefighter Kevin J. Smith's old captain, a man who last saw Smith on Sept.

I think that, while whipping on Mastic is common on these boards, and sometimes deserved (another story), "Gilbert" doesn't have the good sense to a) respect the dead and b)honor a real hero.
It's possible he either just has a real problem with respect or was just a product of bad parenting, probably both. A fairly typical loser.

Hey it's not my fault Mastic, Shirley & Holbrook is trailer park trash. I did not make that place in wellfare central. I feel for the familys loss of a farther in a tragic event but I also feel bad they lived in Mastic as well.

My daughter had known Kevin for many years through the fire service and knew several others who perished that dreadful day. What a wonderful tribute to those who serve. My best thoughts are with the Smith family, FDNY and Mastic Fire Dept.

Its funny you bring up Wading River. All this talk about Mastic having trailer parks. Wading River actually has trailer parks. Some of the biggest hicks I have ever met live in Wading River. Anyway god bless Kevin Smith. You are a true hero.

Although I didn't know Kevin Smith, this is a nice gesture to remember a fine man & firefighter who left us way too soon no thanks to these terrorist bastards. Sadly, it seems that people are becoming complacent. September 11,2001 is becoming a forgotten day. We must always remember Firefighter Kevin Smith & all the others that lost their lives in NYC, DC & Pennsylvania to these no good bastards. Kevin Smith, may God be at yours & your family's side forever.
