She is a sorry excuse for a public servant who thinks her duties extend to showing up to events and being important. In this country we have public servants not Nobles; she is and never was cut out for the job.

I don't understand where our taxes dollars are actually going but I find this disturbing that our town is struggling to keep up with the rest of the towns in Long Island and nobody elected into office is trying to make the place nicer and cleaner looking. People are embarrassed to say they are from this place and that's really sad being that we are a beach front community with nothing to offer, Mastic/Shirley could be a really nice trendy area with trendy apartments and cafes and restaurants. There is so much room for development. What is the building codes? Could we have highrise buildings? or 3 story trendy building with street level stores, cafes,? Is this vision I have of the Mastic/Shirley area possible ........ or is nobody willing to make changes ? REAL CHANGES..... Because you don't contribute to the campaigns of the pols. With so many votes in the area you would think we could get something done. Sadly, most don't vote, many can't read, and almost no one cares about anything but their day to day survival.

But make no mistake - they are Nobles. County Legislature should be an important post - but since most people are too lazy or lame politics runs amuk. Just look at the Nobles clowning around in Albany. They ALL should be replaced - but the political parties will not allow you to run against them. But don't worry, you will likely forget about it and fire up the barbie, pop open a brew and look for solace in doing what the simple folk do.

Mastic/shirley is the only beach front community that's undeveloped. So homeowners should hold onto there houses cause 20 years from now the area might finally be like massapequa and the profits are going to be amazing So true

How about tearing down these "historically preserved" places - like the one near Kohls that was landscaped, sided, windowed, irrigated = what is the point? It looks like a shuttered cabin. Now they will preserve the Mastic Liquor store - another beautification on Montauk Highway... Doesn't Weiseman own mastic liquors? Isn't he a politician for Brookhaven some how some where? Opps... Guess we found the answer to that one!

Weseman is not an elected official. Carol Bissonette did quite a bit for the tri-hamlet community from the Town level. Remember, she was not a County official. Bishop has done very little and Browning even less. They ALL, however, like to show up for pictures with hapless civic leaders where they pat each other on the back. As for the political contribution comments. Is police guy kidding? Is he trying to suggest that in order for these pols, whose salaries are paid by us taxpayers, to actually work and obtain service for our community we have to give money to their campaigns? What part of ILLEGAL do you not understand Mr. Policeman?

I think its great that Montauk Highway is going to have sidewalks and trees etc. But where can people possibly walk to????? The 50 auto body shops?????? Don't you need a car for that? Has anyone counted the amount of auto body, tire and auto accessory businesses there are on Montauk Highway? No matter if there are sidewalks.....there are still alot of eye sores on Montauk Highway. Want to Beautify the area? What about some nice quaint shops like all other towns? It would be nice to take a leisurely stroll in my town.......but again...whether I walk a block east or a block west....where will I end up??? Oh yeah...in front of an auto body shop!

Way too many auto shops. Some of the newer buildings that have been built recently have an older historic look. I guess the town made it mandatory to include a certain historic character to the storefronts. But there are too many eyesores still around. It would be nice if we become an incorporated village like what the SPVEC is proposing, and be able to request for federal grants to the existing store owners who can use them to improve their front facades. That would make it a more desirable shopping experience and help clean up the business district. New sidewalks are not enough, we need a village to bring more funds into this area to help achieve our goal of a better quality of life. This a big reason why it would be a benefit to become a village with Montauk HWY in mind. And I'm still not sold on what the town has done with the new proposed traffic pattern. Another exit after WFP into Mastic would be helpful.

Last time I counted there is only 1 body shop on Montauk Hwy in Shirley/Mastic. Hmmm the rich people over in Moriches must have missed the 3 that they have on Montauk Hwy. You rich people must be very loyal to your 1 auto mechanic shop in Moriches. The ABM-Gulf station, keep giving your money to that pedaphile that owns the ABM-Gulf.

LOL...I think the person posting as "resident" meant to say 50 auto repair shops, not autobody shops. OK maybe an exaggeration but we knew what they meant.

So what would you people like to see? More big box stores that pay minimum wage? Most of the stores on Montauk Hwy, not just the repairs shops, are family owned and employe people from this community. Maybe if people would support the local butchers, mechanics and other family owned business the community would be in better shape. But no, you go to the big box stores and screw the local business. Penny wise and dollar foolish peolpe.

What is the current status of the highway? Anything new ? Are the putting the power lines underground? Newstreet light post that are nice? I haven't been around in a few mths and I try looking online about that status and I can't seem to find anything. And we al need to get on these peoples butts and make them buy new Christmas decorations that drap across the main St. Something classy like sayville .
