helicopter scanning shirley area sunday 9-20-09

what gives? why has a helicopter scanning our area in shirley from morning till night today? does anyone know what is going on?

also i do not know why it says center moriches because i live in shirley. i noticed the helicopter around 11 am this morning. around 5 this afternoon and now. we usually do not get this kind of activity so i wanted to reach out and see if anyone else knew.

I was told that SCPD is using the helicopter to find the person or people that have been going around with a slingshot breaking windows in homes - not sure if this is correct my neighbor is a nassau county cop and that is what he told me.

the helicopter was right over King kullen for a while last night...

yeaa nicole is right, they're looking for the people throwing rocks at homes and throwing them at police officers and they happened to pull up to my home today in the afternoon with 11... thats right.. ELEVEN squad cars and 2 crime scene investigation vans and an unmarked ford taurus with two detectives in it. i was chillin with my friend and as we were leaving they all pulled up and decided to get in our faces because we laughed at one point when being questioned and we were told that we would be eating the pavement and getting shot in the f*cking head and he would f*ck us up any day any time, all because i live south of the house that was hit and he was completely convinced that we did it, with no proof what so ever. during this whole feminine power trip he was having they fingerprinted my backyard and photographed everything. some 7th precinct we have eh? entire packs of police and a helicopter swarming the area for 3 days/nights and they still can not find a group of immature kids throwing rocks at them but yet they can herrass any1 they want for hours on end cuz they got a badge... fuckin embarrassing

yes i just heard the helicoptor now again. i heard on sunday it was bee bee guns. i was told by an officer it was that!

what area are we talking about near the highschool and king kullen or elsewhere? this is where i saw the helicopter stay for a long period of time on sunday.

the house that was being hit is on beacon street right next to home depot/king kullen area... that is also where the officer nearly got hit with a rock and they said it was coming from the south

I saw 2 police cars at a home in that area at the time of the helicopter sightings. The front door was closed but a side gate was opened. Not sure if the owner was home since there is also a for sale sign on the lawn. I hope they get these pathetic fools and bring them up on charges.

They also could be scanning for swimming pools, detached garages, sheds. They want to hit people up so they can have more money for the towns. I have seen them over our neighborhoods in mastic and manorville , over Dayton, Weeks, and South Street, and it is very common in nassau county. Does anyone know if it was SCPD? Were there camera's on the chopper? Scary stuff.

I am not sure if I understand. Why would they be scanning for swimming pools, detached garagesm sheds etc.? Someone mentioned they may be doing some sort of practice/conducting drills? It happened again tonight in Shirley around 9:30-10:00 pm.
