I got a good idea why don't we just put them in a hole with nothing but a lightbulb and a bible until they get out. wich is about 96% of all prisoners. then they can move next to Amanda we'll see if she still thinks they all should be locked in maximum security.

Maybe if they ran it like a minimum instead of a maximum, prisoners would lose that shit house mentality before they come home. You people believe the shit the d.o.c tells you and you'll believe any thing if your scared enough or angry enough. For years the minimum security inmates have saved the state millions and volunteered for charity. But now amanda its the way you want it. Good luck with that.
Hell they are firing good city cops and still inflating the d.o.c administration. Wich aside from a warden or the commisioner, they are useless. No offense to the corrections officers who actually show up every day. Some actually do.

Now that all the Walpole prisioners have been moved in to Shirley, how safe do you all feel now, including the boys in there being held for theft, and small time crimes??? How many deaths and stabbings are being covered up now that the real sick people moved in your back yard?

First off just to lighten the mood where the hell did a couple of u guys go to school and who taught u how to spell "which" LOL I'm a resident of Shirley and for the last 23 yrs have lived in this nice town with the prison around the corner. I have not felt scared or unsafe with it being there. Haven't heard of many instances that I can recall where this has happened. It's close to the highway and if they do escape hopefully they hit that road. They are about to exit the system so they are being tested I believe. But I have to ask even though the facility is minimum secured, what exactly does that mean and why was he able to walk away. Was someone not doing their job? God forbid someone got hurt or worse from this incident. It would be a high price for someone to pay. I'll await to hear what the reason was behind this happening, and then if I'm not satisfied will see the town reps. and whomever else necessary. Make sure we get angry at the right people.

I've been involved in the system and yes being in a minimum security is when your not that high of a risk and are close to being out of the system. It is a test. Someone wasn't doing there job or missed a clue that this man was planning on doing that.

Its really sad because some inmates need that chance to show that they can indeed be productive again. He will get caught asap it really wasn't worth it.

I heard the guy escaped because there was a hit on his mother from a rival gang. People in the minimum are close to getting out on the streets and this would have been a really stupid thing for him to do. I guess I dont blame the guy trying to save his mother. The sad thing is he will problably be back on murder charges after he tracks down the rival gang member and never get out of prison. What will his mother do then? Sucky world he lives in!

Hey Jane - you are about 5 years too late with your reply!!!! And completely wrong prisoner. Read about the one who walked away from minimum security in April 2011

No right prisoner but my predictions came true. I posted right after he escaped because of his mother. And look what happened after my post. He kills one innocent bystander, shoots the father of the gang member who shot his mother and shoots two cops in the chest. Why was someone like this in a minimum security prison in the first place? Next I bet they blame the prison for the walk off!

If they broke societies laws then prison is the "nicest" of punishments. Look back in time to see how a criminal would be treated before. Then, my friend, you can whine about how you were denied these options and placed in a cell with a light.
