I have to say reading this has mad me sad. I have so many memories there. I went to Ayer High in the 80's. and was there when the asbestos happend. and was shipped off to Fort Devens. It was alot of fun and I enjoyed it.. It was like going to collage. at least for me it was.. this school played a big part in my life and it's going to be missed by me and many others..I made lots of friends there. that to this very day I till talk to.sorry to here that it wont be there for many other kids that could call this school home...

It will still be there for the kids of Ayer and Shirley like it always has, it will just have a slightly different name. Log on to the school website for more info.

I, too, went to Ayer HS from 1980 to 1983 when I graduated. Made a ton of great friends who I still talk with frequently. I remember the asbestos fiasco very well as it happened my senior year...never got to go out on the "quad." I moved away and was not aware this was going on.
