Its really amazing how two phantom politicians that only come out on election years(Olver and Benson) keep getting re-elected.

There is something really wrong with the voters to keep electing people that do not produce and remain in hiding most of the time, I guess in Mass., all you have to be is a Democrat and you win

JIm: You must not reside in Benson's districts. Bc if you did you would never say that she is a phantom politician. She has worked hard for our district, she responds to anyone who contacts her, and her voting record is logical and reasonable. FYI: she was the only democrat who won the most votes in Lunenburg. And she won Boxborough too (where kurt is from). She must be doing something right that you just don't know.

Hey Jen, let this be a warning to you. You won by one of the smallest margins against a Republican. Most of your Dem Hack buddies in the House won their races by 20-30%, you squeaked by with a 10 point margin. 45% of your constituents want to fire you.
Looks like the Union money really helped you across the finish line.

You got that right! All you have to look at is the State Auditor's race. You have a Democrat political hack, Suzanne Bump, who was caught during the race avoiding paying the proper real estate taxes to the City of Boston running with no formal auditing experience going up against a CPA, Mary Connaughton, who is a professionally trained auditor who worked for a Big 4 accounting firm as an auditor.

The common sense viewpoint is Mary should have won in a landslide. Of course she didn't because she ran as a Republican and not a Democrat and the Zombies who vote in MA just vote D not matter how bad the candidate.

You are kidding me!!!! That is all you have to hang your hat on, she won and deserved to win, some of you just don't get that the electorate doesn't want to go far left, we want fiscal constraint not to abolish government.

Don't kid yourself! She didn't overwhelmingly win in Lunenburg and in Boxboro she won by 15 votes. Also, Boxboro is a traditional Democratic town.

In Lunenburg, Benson had 53% of the votes and Kurt had 47%. Also, Lunenburg casted more votes in favor of Baker. The family and friend votes in Lunenburg made the difference for Benson. Going forward she does not have clear mandate in Lunenburg to support her far left liberal views. So, Jennifer don't bother bringing up the 5 cents tax on plastic bags for a vote. We don't want it!!!! Use your art history degree and help create jobs.

What happened to Kurt's Family and Friend's in Boxborough? Kurt spent a lot of time in Lunenburg, that was his strategy. And despite a town that went for Baker, Benson still prevailed.(And, other than her husband Brent, not sure she even has any other family here to vote!) It's just silly to be so dismissive of her margin of victory. The "friends" who voted for her in Lunenburg are the constituents she helped and the local officials she works with, many of whom are independents, not democrats.

Jen as you know your margin of victory was not good (facts are facts as noted above by others); your circle of friends may be small but you went after the large organizations and interest that would support you as a Democrat. You may not be so lucky next time.

All I know is that I hope Kurt Hayes doesn't run for the thrid time. Someone should tell him to give it up. No one likes a woman hater.

You should go work for Sean Hannity with right wing spin like that.

55% in this polarized country is a sizeable majority. Plenty of the republican tea partiers that you probably wet yourself over "won" with less than that.

Easy there Mikey. Time to take your meds and watch Rachel Madcow.
Benson only won by 15 in Boxboro, lost in Lancaster. Not a powerful mandate.
Your mama called, time to clean up your room in the basement.

Mandate? We don't need no stinkin' mandate! You Tea Baggers need to go collect your next social security check, government pension check, worker's comp check and leave the legislating to the grown-ups. Don't worry we'll take care of you slackers, we believe it is our Christian duty to care for those that obviously can't care for themselves.

Benson sat on her fat a ss and let the machine and the unions do her work. Did anyone see her out campaigning or get a call from her campaign?

I saw her and Mr. Hayes in my community about equally. I did get lots of Robo-calls from Hayes.

And I totally don't get the "problem" with unions. No one seems to raise an eyebrow when an organization, for example, the Chamber of Commerce or better yet a PRIVATE CORPORATION, endorses or campaigns for a Republican. But when an organization endorses a Democrat, it's suddenly evil? Please.

"Unions" are not amorphous political machines, the are collective organizations of our teachers, police, firefighters, and other workers, indeed our neighbors and friends, as entitled to their opinions as the corporations that pump millions in on the other side.

I saw her out campaigning, and she answered each and every one of my e-mails within the same day....never got a call from Hayes, although I must admit, I wouldn't have voted for him anyway.

I have talked to Benson before and other than a school issue, she has no idea what she is talking about. Check out her show on cable, I was actually embarrassed for her. We all know that Kurt Hayes was the more qualified candidate, he just didn't have the machine, unions, Jaimie Eldridge, poll watchers and special interest groups helping him on election day.

Instead of jaundiced aye, should be brown nose. It's pretty bad when you have poll watchers who then go out and pick up voters to go vote. People who are at home who have no idea about the candidates, just told come out and vote every D on the ballot. That's how Jamie and Jen won. I hope they can sleep at night knowing that's how they won the election. They would be stupid to think other wise.

Right wing conservatives....always the name calling...what's up with that? So now getting out the vote is somehow cheating or a stupid way to run for office? You only have to read your own blog to understand why your guy lost.

Jen you should be putting your time into representing what the people want rather than writing on blogs defending yourself and slamming your opponent, does this really make you feel better? Your eyes aren't jaundiced Jen they are flaming red because you won in all the wrong ways..
