Not just Tracy Dewolf and Melissa Clark but what about everyone who helped decorate, made baskets to raffle off, sold all the ornaments hung around the place, the establishment and food donated by Ed Sherwin and Jay Howlett, the people who cooked the food, people who sold the raffle tickets and just people who came down to support them!!! WOW way to just say "Thanks and Happy Holidays" to all these other people!!!! AMAZING how ungrateful people are.

I would like to say Thanks so much to the people who helped out there!

They did not get a thank you last yr either. As a matter of fact, they got bashed by the biggies and were almost told no this year. It seems the Phoenix was not of the right caliber of certain people in Shirley. I hear the biggies are now crying because word is getting around that this is NOT the same fund it used to be. There are a few other places that get bashed also behind closed doors because their donations were not up to this groups standards.
I think Phoenix should start it's own fund and use it for a few families next yr. I am sure those families would be grateful, unlike the "fund" people. Perhaps they could even join in with others that have been shunned, and start a big Christmas fund. So many needed, so many good ideas out there.

As a former member of the Friendship fund, I apologize for what was done to the fabulous people at the Phoenix.
A public apology is needed by those who run this fund, by those in charge.
Again, I am so sorry for what happened to you. that was one of the many reasons I quit that org.

You are sooo right....this is not the same fund it used to be. I was involved with this fund under the previous leadership and Mrs. Shea did everyone proud running this organization. The new leader, Mrs. Conley, has chastised good hard-working people who have tried to help her fund over the past couple of years. I was very disappointed to hear of all the things she said about the Phoenix fundraising efforts. I will not be involved with the friendship fund charity again. The Phoenix family WILL continue to help the children of Shirley have a blessed Christmas. If you have good ideas or want to help out just let them know.

It's a shame that people are willing to lie about such a worthy organization. People who sincerely want to help other people don't abuse a charitable organization to further their personal agendas.
The comments made here are untrue and unjustified, and it's sad to see people go so low when there are people out there who really need the fund's help. Most people who give to charity don't care whether their names are printed in the local newspaper.

“Christmas gift suggestions:
To your enemy, forgiveness.
To an opponent, tolerance.
To a friend, your heart.
To a customer, service.
To all, charity.
To every child, a good example.
To yourself, respect.”

If you look at what the article is about, it was obviously written weeks before it was ever published.

You have to remember that with a weekly paper, things are often not published in a timely manner.

I am going to write this one time. I can prove everything I ever said. Now if you think calling many people liars that saw and hear so much of these things, Go right ahead. You will be the loser for it.
This is not Mrs Shea's organization. It is not even close to the caliber of Mrs.Shea, and she would never have allowed her org to be run the way it is now.
I quit due to many reasons over the past two Christmas's. The frosting on the cake was actually two days after the second bashing of the Phoenix and it's customers. While working my butt off I was actually insulted yet again.
If I ran an org I would stand up FOR the worker bees, not against them.
You do not know what you are talking about as you were probably not around.
It is not just the Phoenix and thank you's.
It is about running down the very people that do the work needed.
How does one become the leader of the org anyway? Vote? Appointment? I am curious, because I would love to speak to those that appointed if that happens.
