well, i am with Sassy. Let's leave alone the evident troubles of Mr. Keady, and explore the future of Shirley.
The issue now is not Keady (that situation is clear), but where we go from here, and with whom, is the issue. While it is not reasonable to paint our remaining officials with the same brush as Keady, it is just as clear that some of our elected officials and town hall employees demonstrated very poor judgment. One "victim" evidently discovered the planter pen cam, and chose to confront Keady w/ that discovery directly, rather than properly report it.(That camera was ultimately recovered from the victims' home??) Too, evidently, this victim (and another?) was prepared to accompany Keady to his new post in Pepperell. Nevertheless, that same individual is now tapped to participate in our "interim" government? Similarly, despite the evident conflict-of-interest described by Cappucci, two current BOS members were prepared to offer Keady a new contract!(I'll ignore the other specific suggestions in all of these threads - including assault and embezzlement - as hear-say, and i'll also ignore the two priors identified in court, i suppose.) At best, the "interim government" folks rode the wrong horse, and their absence of insight - or maybe just absence of common sense - or at worst their absence of responsibility - does not bode well for our "interim" performance. I say throw 'em all out, and let's start anew. The BOS would do well, & proper, to call a special election. The employer should take some responsibility for hiring the bad-apple, don't you think?
