According to the article, the flight was the result of government subsidy, and it's discontinuation is the result of the end of that government subsidy.
The Federal government has no business subsidizing private air carriers in the first place. If the flight cannot pay for itself, then cutting it is a good business decision.

I completly agree. In fact, the government should not subsidize ANY business in the form of "tax breaks".
