Why is the 68 year old running? He will be sleeping during the meetings.

Both incumbents voted against the reduction, voted for discretionary funds for the council members, and supported Speaker Morgan and Young Jeff Tom in depleting general funds of the Nation. They had their chances. Virgil Kirk is pretty much outa sight-outta mind, and talks way too much. He is kinda weird and does not speak Navajo. Russell Lewis works at Chapter House that saw money being overspend and deficit grew. He blames Chili Yazzie, but in reality should blame himself and chapter officials for NN taking over finances. Russell Begaye is the best candidate for this job.

One of the proudest moment in my life as a Navajo was to see a full blood rez born & raised Navajo standing in front of 40+ students teaching a course under the Department of Linguistics at UCLA. I do not know how long he taught at UCLA but it sure felt good that we had one successful educated Navajo. You can't go wrong with Mr. Russell Begaye. Go Bruin!!

dont be a brat, study the incumbents records properly, not just what you read on blogs and ads. atcitty votes are all recorded for all to see, nothing to hide. he did not vote with others too as you say. he supported reduction to 24, voted for fundamental law, voted not to put the prez on admin leave, voted against all the requests to waive laws and deplete the general funds, research the votes before you make comments. atcitty has nothing to hide on how he conducts business on council. he has my vote.

A Navajo friend of mine getting his bachelors degree invited me to hear their commencement speaker, a Navajo by the name of Russell Begaye. Wow! Articulate, intelligent, passionate, funny and lots of charisma. I wish I had a copy of his speech to post on web. When you hear him, you will not want to vote for anyone else.

However you vote, folks of Shiprock Precinct, DO NOT vote for the former and defunct 88 council delegates, because they have made life miserable for the Navajo people in general. They, including Anthony and Atcitty, have bankrupt the Navajo Tribal Treasury leaving us over $50 millions in debt. They splurged the tribal funds freely for the past decades for their personal benefits, including excessive travels to Las Vegas and other cities for entertainments; they benefited from discretionary funds; excessive and uncalled for special meetings just so they can get paid; they obstructed the peoples' vote to decrease the size of the council; they declared that the peoples' vote to downsize the council was invalid and went as far as taking the peoples' vote to Court. When the Navajo Supreme Court upheld the Navajo Peoples' vote, they wanted to remove the Judges that upheld the referendum vote.

I have seen Atcitty and Anthony in action. Anthony is a model for the current gov't turmoil and Atcitty although I agree with his voting record, he does not have voice in the gov't. We need someone who can persuasively be a voice in WR and properly represent Shiprock voters! From what I have seen and researched I think the only choice that can give us that representation is Russell Begaye. I heard his campaign rally is this Friday, 7/30 if you want more information.

Wow! What a choice of "pan scrapings". Russel Begay sounds the best choice. The others are left-overs from the old days of corruption. Is this the best that can be offered? Where are all the young, educated individuals? Probably sick of the mess and moved of the rez. and not interested in wasting their time. Kirk say wants business development and "respect". He should start with his run down "shanty" style places of "business" that are boarded-up. Who is he trying to kid?

I work for a global company based in Kansas City. The Exec Team hired Mr. Begaye to restructure the company. He spent 6 months working with our Exec. Team, Field Directors, and selected local directors. He id our bottle necks, streamlined procedures, merged departments, and even had two exec. removed. He consulted with our company for two more years. If you want someone who understands restructuring Mr. Begaye has the guts to make good changes and tells it like it is all to make the company run at a proficient level. Shiprock you got the right man.

Atcitty will properly and has always properly represented his commumity and himself well in Window Rock. He has had to "fight" the 60+ delegates that would not listen to reason and with the new 24 he will be working with delegates that are up to change and will restructure the new government, and we have had enough "fast talkers" that come in tell you what you want to hear just to get your vote. Atcitty was elected in 2002 in the reform movement and has work to finish with the new 24. We believe in Pete Ken Atcitty for Shiprock!

The BEST CHOICE out of the Shiprock Council Delegate RACE is RUSSELL BEGAYE. A native of Shiprock that comes from the farm road, attended LOCAL schools all the way up to high school. Graduated in 1970 and went off to the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA), played briefly as a junior guard for UCLA Bruins before messing his knees. He graduated and got into business for himself. A self made man determined to change our system of dyfunct Navajo Nation government. BEST CHOICE ALL THE WAY AROUND - VOTE RUSSELL BEGAYE FOR SHIPROCK DELEGATE.

is Russell Begaye. Google him and find out his background. Nothing embarrasing, nothing to hide. He is for sure. The others are shady. Go Russell Begaye, I hope you win, brother!
