Instead of blaming the theft on "gambling addiction", why not put blame where it is due? On the thief!

That someone was able to steal over 20 grand over a four month period from the City of Bloomfield's contract MVD office (The city runs it, not the state), also shows what poor cash control measures the city utilized. The woman was only caught because one of her employees was paying attention.

Well if we're going to take that route, what effect is the booze industry having on the community? There are many more alcohol related crimes than gambling related crime.

Are Farmington and SJC willing to go dry?

Hahahaha.....what a joke!

I agree the alcohol industry has caused this little county plenty of tragedies, death, mayhem. It has happened in all three cities car loads of children wiped out.Not to mention what they have done to the reservation.Remember highway 666.You took your life in your own hands back in the eighties, and back to drive it.

An addiction is an addiction. We need less bars and casinos and more churches. ALL we need is Jesus! Let he who is without sin cast the first stone, and thank God for those who believe we have a God of grace who forgives.

Farmington is FULL of churches. Is Jesus in any of them?

She took money that wasn't hers!!! A "Thief" is a "Thief" no matter why they stole the money!!! Why are we sympathizing with this case verses the other embezzlement cases or addictions?? We need to concentrate on drug and alcohol addictions that hurt everyone from family, friends and the community. These addicts also become "Thieves" to feed their habits/addictions. I am sorry but sympathy eludes me for this young woman!!! In the end, we will pay for it with the rise of rates for MVD related issues or city fees.
