I wonder just how her canvassing will be conducted? I sure hope she does not plan on trespassing onto peoples property just to check a dog license.

Calm down there buddy, I never stated any "facts".
I understand she has some sort of right as given to her by the State, to check dog licenses; I was just wondering if she would be knocking on doors and asking to see the license, or would she just walk onto peoples property to perform this check.

Holy cow! Welcome to Over-reaction Speculation Day!
So I guess this lady can stroll unannounced onto anybody's property at anytime for the sole purpose of checking a dog for a license.
[Dude] Not hiding a thing and I frankly could not care less if someone has dog licensed or not. It's just another silly tax.

Actually a dog license is not the fastest way to get your dog back. A microchip is.
On that note, not all owners keep their collars & tags on their pets while on their property. Ms. Martin is one of those owners. She told me this herself when someone tried to report me.

Dogs must have their tags on when they leave the propety only.

mee09 you got a fine because you got the tags the DAY she got you. It does not work that way. If they were dated the day before she got you. You would not have been fined!

Actually, the dog warden does have a legal right to go on anyone's property to look at the dog to check for tags. Fence or no fence - Sign or no sign. The officer cannot go into a home or building without permission or warrant.

Just another outdated government regulation. Any dog acquired from the shelter has a chip. Must dogs either have a chip or they have something like a milkbone dog tag that has the owners phone number and address. A milkbone tag makes alot more sense than a license. What is someone suppose to do when they find a dog that is lost at 10PM at night, they have a dog with a county dog license that has a numerical number on it which means nothing except to the County Treasurer. The system is so outdated. They are going door to door to check dog tags. Guess what my dog is in the United States illegally. I bought him from an illegal hispanic on Main Street Chambersburg. It would be much better use of tax dollars if we would eliminate the dog warden and have someone go house to house and check birth certificates. Down with the dog warden.
