Let's stick with the facts and leave the character assasination and name calling to those who lose brain cells every time they blow their nose. Mr. Hockersmith already had eight years to put into effect any ideas he might have had. The sorry state
of the town of Shippensburg is testiment to the effectiveness of those ideas. It was time to give someone else a try. A majority of those who voted
are happy with the way things are. They, and those who were too apathetic to vote, are deserving of what they get.

Wow, I bet somebody wishes he hadn't posted something.

Bruce Hockersmith was one of the best and most memorable teachers I ever had.

Yeah, that was kind of mean of me and I apologize and take it back. Let me explain...

Goodhart was one of my teachers too. And one of the worst I ever had, by the way. He had no personality or passion for his job. He approached teaching with a complete and total disregard for his students, or their success.

I did well in his class, but learned very little. He would seem to drift off, and had trouble concentrating. Was almost never available outside of class for any reason. I doubt he knew a single student's name.

Everyone dreaded the class, not just from boredom but also because of his crackling, high pitched voice, that would pierce through your brain.... coming from the other end of an accounting discussion didn't really help much. He refused to use computer, opting for archaic overhead projectors... he would stand in front of the projector, squinting into the light as if he didn't understand why he was being blinded by it. He would teach entire lessons with his eyes closed.

So, I'm wondering how Shippensburg is in a sorry state. Last few times I was there, things seemed to be going quite well. It's a great small town, which I believe made a national list of greatest small towns in America. Crime is low, despite the doubling of the town's population with drunken college students. And there's some respectable economic growth, without taking away from the small town charm.

I'd say anyone who thinks that Fast Eddie could "fix" something that isn't broken is the one losing brain cells.

Hey, genius. You've got the wrong Ed Goodhart.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Capricorn

Get out your list of things to do, because you're in a very industrious and efficient mood. Start with whatever is most urgent and then carry on from there. If you seem to be doing all the work while loved ones laze around watching TV, you'll soon chivvy them along and get them to lend a hand. After all, you don't want to feel like Cinderella!
