I think Wilkes Barre needs to start putting some police patrols into affect in the neighgorhoods. Maybe move some focus off the first block of south main street for a while and take a good look at the crumbling ares around here. How can there be a downtown project when you have to drive through slums to get to it? How about a poll for Wilkes Barre residents on just how safe they feel??? Or would this bring the REAL Wilkes Barre to light? Juet a few thoughts

I have to agree I live in these crime ridden streets, and I'll tell you that I have been robbed several times since July of last year! I witnessed an attemped robbery, and the reason why it was foiled was because I called 911. Police arrived, and would you be supprised if I told you the robber got away! Now what if i told you the police took no finger prints, no evidence, nothing! I know who this robber is and its the same one that robbed me.. now why don't the police? I see an inherant problem here.. they are too busy at the movies 14 keeping an eye on the teens, and not getting the real crime. oh well i know this is a lost cause but then again so is the city

igrew up in Wilkes-Barre and rightnow i think it's a bad place to live. all the people are coming in from out of town. you are afraid to walk down the streets for fear of your life or someone coming up to you for money or trying to sell you drugs. why don't they get rid of the free loaders that hang around the penn plaza i don't see to many cop cars there any more since the movie theater. why don't
vision test thoseguys that sit around for drugs not just alchol because alot of them are on different things. sometimes i think the cops fear there lives and the lives of the people around them and they close their eyes to some things.if they get rid of the drugs in w-b then maybe it will be a better city to live in.

It is no wonder the incompetence of the police department. The mayor appointed his brother police chief when he took office. That was a move to make money for the family, not control crime.

You should realy stop critisizing people and do soemthing positive, man... most of your post are not realy constructive in any way shape or form...actions speak a thousand words.. so instead of talking go out like some people i know and do something positive.. like pick up trash.. or report drug criminals... either way.. God Bless!
