Again?? Although I have confidence that my relatives and friends in the area can take care of themselves I worry about the pressure of all that water.
In 1998 while going through the panama canal and having lunch on the ship the man next to me started talking about his experiences with the corps of engineers. He said his first project was the dikes in Kingston, pa and how bad they all felt when the dikes failed. That they failed to take into consideration the effects of hydralic pressure. They now do a working model before they build just incase they missed anything. He said he often was concerned about the people that lived there at the time. By coincedence I lived on Northampton st. in Kingston at the time and was present when the dikes failed. That was some 50 years after the event!
