<quoted text>I too apologize if I offended you but please remember that I am just trying to defend the voiceless be it either a animal or a baby. Just remember to always speak from your heart and if you feel the need to harass someone then please do it to those that really does deserve the harassment. I really believe that you too have a good heart but just don't let others take you down the wrong path. As I said earlier Happy Holidays and I hope your new year brings good things your way.
Oh, I only troll, I don't tend to harass. There is a fine line. <g> Oh, I don't have to let others lead me down the wrong paths. I often walk willingly. LOL!

My theory is that everyone is a "ho" of sorts, though usually not the kind on the street corner. Some sell themselves for money, some for attention, some for approval, etc. Very often, folks here sell their opinions for approval. We either say something other than what we mean out of fear, or we tailor our message to suit the audience in order to get the most approval, then in another board, switch teams.

Yes, Happy Holidays to you and yours as well, and thank you for your wishes.

Most shelters around here destroy any animal that needs any great degree in medical treatment. You watch the local news- they kill cats and dogs that are confiscated for flea infestation, then say: It's the worst case of abuse we've ever seen. One of the north country groups went after one guy strictly to seize his property so they could use it as a new animal shelter. Wanted to charge him 25,000 a day for taking care of his animals, LOL. I was in on exposing that one. The whole matter was dropped rather quickly. Most vet care for these groups is free, meds are wholesale. I am sure you know how many shots are in an 8$ bottle of rabies or parvo vaccine. Yes they have to feed them, with mostly donated and outdated free food (which, btw, if I used outdated feeds for my animals would be a USDA violation), and clean them, mostly with volunteer help, and heat them, with subsidized reduced rates for fuel and electric. They are generally rude, negative people who hate the people who come in to adopt. In my experience in the Capital Region.
I have no clue which group you are talking about but this seems far fetched and definitely not the norm as far as shelters are concerned. I used to do the food donations for two different organizations and I can tell you we never fed these animals out dated food. I also used to volunteer at the Regional Food Bank with the pet food that was donated from various food manufacturers. Old and spoiled food was destroyed so as not to contaminate the good food. I sorted and organized dozens of pallets of pet food. Another form of food donations for the shelters were from school children and ordinary people who would bring in food. All food was check to make sure nothing had worms, flies or anything else wrong with it. If you'd like to find out what vets charge these groups you know you can get that info very easily. I can also guarantee that Saratoga County shelter, Mohawk and Hudson and the APF in Schenectady pay their vets. Working with two different non profits we also paid for vet care. Which Organization are you refering to? North Country?

Yes I guess I do it for the attention but not for me but for the poor animals that suffer abuse and neglect at the hands of mean, greedy, selfish and many times vile and vicious people. To give attention to the abusers that this is not normal behavior. I guess if you have seen what I have in regards to rescuing those that suffer it takes it's toll on you in a big way. You begin to have so much more empathy towards the animals and you become bitter and angry at those that have been so cruel. If you could see the pics from this one house where there was 31 plus dead cats and 17 live ones, 10 of which had to be euthanized and how they lived for 3 yrs, you wonder how did this all happen and why. Not only did I take out all the live ones but I also gathered the remains of all the dead ones I could find and had them cremated together. No way was I going to even leave them there where their lives were hell. Just to give you an idea one 6 month old kitten was between the back door and the screen door and I couldn't understand how the kitten got there til I checked it out after being told about it. Well the bottom glass was broke and my enitial thought was if it could jump in why couldn't it jump out. I opened the screen door and low and behold this poor kitten had jumped right on top of a huge hornets nest and had been stung to death. Can't begin to describe how I felt at that moment. I wanted to take the owner of that house and shove their heads right into a hornets nest and say to them how does this feel. That poor kitty suffered such a horrific death. All because the owner couldn't care less. This is just one example of many that I have rescued. Is there any reason for what happened to these cats? Ignorance, selfishness and down right stupidity. It hurts you to the core when someone so helpless suffers so much. On christmas day and everyday I think of those that I don't know about and only wish I could help them. My wish is to end suffering for all that do suffer no matter if it is human or an animal. Thank you to for the wishes:)
