As Christmas season approaches and kids atrat begging for puppies, PLEASE do not buy puppies from these people. The puppies come from a mixture of puppy mills and backyard breeders. They pay a couple of hundred, at max, for the puppy and then sell it for an amount that requires most people to finance it. They rationalize it by saying they include vet care/ shots. But it has to be THEIR vet. Even if the abuse of puppy mills doesn't bother you, the thought of paying an inflated price for the littermate of puppies for sale in the classifieds should give you pause. In my opinion, the best dog for children is a pound puppy. They are usually housetrained and are so grateful for a home. Give your kids a lesson in giving by giving a dog a home.
