Lars, couldn't afford to live there could you? haha!
I grew up in Sherrill and am proud to call myself a "Sherrill Snob". It's an elite group that not everyone can be a part of. Sorry you couldn't cut it.:)
Oh, and another little bit of information for you. Christopher Burke also grew up there. Google it if you're confused.
And I'm glad you pointed out that nurturing children is the responsibility of the city/town/etc. in which you live, because I've been under the impression it was up to the parents. Hahaha!

In response to the comments made by “really” of Liverpool, NY.
----------
REALLY: Lars, couldn't afford to live there could you? haha!
LARS: When did Sheerrill become a 'gated community?' The cost of living is not higher in Sherrill than in other central New York communities. The median income for a household in Sherrill is $48,919, well below the criteria for upper middle class status. Your statement regarding my income is speculation, as my financial information is not available to you. However, I can assure you that my personal income alone is well above this figure, and household income significantly exceeds $48,919.
In addition, this remark is particularly disturbing, as it implies that you find hilarity in the misfortune and impoverished socio-economic status of others. What is so amusing about hungry children or a senior citizen who can not afford to purchase medication or food?
----------
REALLY: I grew up in Sherrill and am proud to call myself a "Sherrill Snob". It's an elite group that not everyone can be a part of. Sorry you couldn't cut it.:)

(Definition of ELITE GROUP - a group or class of persons enjoying superior intellectual or social or economic status.
Definition of SNOB - an individual who adopts the worldview that some people are inherently inferior to him or her for any variety of reasons.)

LARS: I also grew up in Sherrill. 6 generations of my family have resided there for the more than 120 years-prior to it being named Sherrill. Many relatives live there still. I also enjoy the friendship of several Sherrill residents. None of these individuals meets the definition of snob, and would be appalled and/or hysterical at being included in this so-called 'elite group.' I last encountered this type of snobbish, elitist behavior while in 7th grade at VVS, when several of my fellow classmates from Sherrill attempted (unsuccessfully) to establish their superiority over students from Vernon and Verona. Junior High justice was quickly dispensed.
----------
REALLY: Oh, and another little bit of information for you. Christopher Burke also grew up there. Google it if you're confused.
LARS: I did not find it necessary to Google the above. I was already aware of this tragedy. The significance or relevance of your comment is what confuses me. Perhaps you wanted to draw attention to this particular member of your “elitist group.” Again, I find this to be disturbing behavior. The memory of this EMS provider should be addressed with respect, not with the casual snarkiness utilized by yourself.
----------
REALLY: And I'm glad you pointed out that nurturing children is the responsibility of the city/town/etc. in which you live, because I've been under the impression it was up to the parents. Hahaha!
LARS: "Hahaha!" ??? Again it is unclear what is humorous?
"It Takes A Village(to raise a child)" is a highly regarded book where an African girl searches for her younger brother, then finds the rest of the village has been looking after him in the interim. This is a philosophy of caring embraced by many, including Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. I personally believe that a positive outcome is more likely in the presence of community involvement and intervention. However, this is only my subjective opinion. It is possible that social isolation, exclusion, and the tolerance of negative behavior that is encouraged by selfish individuals who lack concern or compassion could produce similar results.

Just a fact that the chiefs son has a very long history not only using but selling, his father should be embarassed and own up to turning a blind eye to the activities that were going on in his own house. Jason has been traveling the area buying cold medicine and cooking his own meth right under his parents roof! Fact that will come out. It's a shame that the city has to deal with this trailer park life from the person who is supposed to be protecting it's citizens from it, but what can one expect from a person who allows a frivolous lawsuit be brought by his son on the city of Oneida when his son was in clear violation of the law, this is a person who lives by two standards and it's high time he be shown the door!!!
It sounds to me like there is a green eyed monster amongst us! Jasons lawsuit was not frivolous by any means. The chief of police is Not a person who lives by two standards. Hes a wonderful person! You need to stop bashing him! Jealously comes in all shapes and sizes. Whats your problem?

How stupid can you people be! Sherrill right now is being neglected. I never see a cop on route 5 anymore. People are speeding like you wouldn't believe. Wheres your cop? The City of Sherrill should be proud of themselves. I would like to see when theres a real tragedy. How sad. Was it ever proven where the child came into contact with the methamphetamine?

you people have the facts wrong! the facts are jason was not charged in the overdose because the boy was only at his house for 20 min and then he was at home for 9 hrs before he had overdosed this whole time he was never in contact with his uncle!!! and there was never any meth or meth making materials ever found near the hastings house or anywere nere jason! he was charges for purchasing suddefed for a known meth cook david swartz!! another fact jason hastings money from the city of oneida in in a secure bond till the age of 50 this was put in bond by the hastings family so he would not spend it all! he at the age of 50 has more than 1.9 mil coming back to him and if he dies its willed to his nephew who he has always loved and done nothing to hurt! ya he has drug issuses but when you look at the big picture steve sgarlota is a drunk who wets himself! and i witnesses steve asking jason to buy him a huge amount of cocaine to bring to the erie mill ! also steve has failed numerous work related drug test that you people dont hear about, jason has done his 30 days at a federal facility in NYC he has been or paroll for more than a year and has had over 115 drug test that cannot be beaten he has passed them all! im not sticken up for him but i do no that he would never hurt his nephew or anyone for that matter!

PS> the babysitter at jasons sisters house had a meth cook for a son! he was in her custody that day and thats were the law should have looked because from what i here they would have found out the reason tyler overdosed but everyone was so focused on jason when he was no were nere the kid at the time! this is only because the no good steve sgarlota wanted to make his ex wife family out to be horrible when in fact its him!
