I went to school with Chad, and I also see him and his wife everytime they pick their children up from school (mine go there too). I'm glad to hear he is ok. I know my first instinct is to hit the brakes when I deer jumps in front of me too. I'm sure it's much harder to control a semi instead of a regular vehicle though...but I am just glad he's ok! I'm sure his wife and children feel the same way!

Deer just suffered a glancing blow. He's all butter now!

I think the driver was going the wrong whey.

Cheese-us Christ!

Deer couldn't get out of the whey fast enough...lacked toes.

Truck driver rolled down window just before impact and yelled "Moooove over". He had two horns, too.

"Elsie ya in court" was the comment the deer made when interviewed by News8.

Got milk? Well, I HAD some....

...and good night.

I live near where this accident happened. There are herds of deer to be seen all day long all up and down that area. I beleive his story ioo%. Had my own close calls along there also. Before you know the person and the circumstances you best not be slandering a person. If the tables were turned I bet you wouldn't like some one saying that about you. Think about that! Funny you aren't at all.

Gee, Cindy what do you think really happened? If it was a car that had went off the road, avoiding a deer, would you be as skeptical? Hmmm, we have a truck, partially filled with milk in containers, he hits the brakes,(usual reaction when most people see an animal), the load shifts, and off he goes. We are told to just go ahead and hit the animal, because then we have proof that it ran in front of us, why, because 99% of the time we are accused automaticaly of falling asleep. I personally don't want to hit an animal, or anything else for that matter. But because it is atomatically assumed we fall asleep all the time, we have to hit the animals. What a shame isn't it. Guilt by occupation. How do I know this, I'm a truck driver.
Actually, statistically, you are better off to hit the deer than to hit the ditch.

Those of us who have driven Michigan roads for the last 30 years know deer are inherently stupid and plentiful in our state. As for the reaction of the driver, the split second in which he had to respond is seldom adequate for any of us faced with the same situation. His comrades in the trucking industry normally split the deer in two; next time he will, too. Glad he's okay.

Just what is it that makes you think anyone can't drive a semi? I've heard the guys that drive semi's on a cb asking for directions, can't they read a map? no picture this, driver jumps on a cb and asks what exit is such and such a highway, but when you approach that highway the exit smaller than the route number, well DUH pay attention, stay off the cell phones and learn to read a map. So dont ever think these drivers can't be replaced. So maybe you should have kept your PIEHOLE shut.

THANKYOU! I TOTALLY AGREE! To all the a-holes who think they know him, Chad is not an incompetent person! He did the same thing anyone else would have done, except he was driving a semi truck. Just because there aren't skid marks doesn't mean anything, and it irritates me that someone would even suggest he dozed off or anything of the sort. It was a pure accident that could happen to anyone!

Your right there's a difference between incompetent and inexperienced, sounds like your his match also, no one here called you anything vulgar, so I can tell which side of the fence you were brought up on. Like the other post said, take out the deer and you have proof of what you hit, you came to his defense rather quickly were you there when it happen? I didn't think so, maybe you were texting him on his cell phone. so.... go away little girl you bother me. HAHAHAHA
