Man Escaped From Valley West Hospital in Sandwich, IL

[Concerned]

A mental patient escaped from Valley West Hospital last night and has broken in houses and been assaulting people, I did hear this from a cop because they were looking for the escapee does anybody know if he has been caught?

Yes he was caught again. I was very frightened by this on the 20th. The more I have learned the less worried I have become. This is a young man who is unstable but he was just trying to find a car to get out of town.

I heard there was a murder in Sandwich in the past week, is this true and has this man been caught?

No murder in Sandwich in the past week. Not that we have heard and I have lived in the town for 20 years.

No, he was not murdered, but was attwacked and severly injured.

That was my little brother. He did not hurt anyone, but he did break into a car and i found him 2 days later in Shabbona after breaking into a gas station and a house. i believe it is schizophrenia. My brother did not attack anyone, but maybe there was someone else who did. Again he is in custody there is nothing to work about.

Derek! How is your brother? It was my car he "borrowed". Hit home that he is just a kid when I got the car back and the radio station was the same that my kids listen to. Is he getting the help he needs? If there is anything I can do (like press charges to force the system), let me know.

he is in custody, and i am going to make sure it stays that way. I am going to have him brought up to Singer in Rockford. He is the reason i got into psychology so much, because i always knew he had something wrong, and i wanted to fix him. Then, i get the call that he was picked up and in the hospital, i flew from mendota to see him. it was absolutely crushing to see MY little brother, my second half, after only having each other through our fucked up childhood, talking about how he is jesus and worried that i am going to die, as the bible depicted. After i had to go outside to have a cigeratte and calm down, thats when he bolted. After myself and my grandparents told them he will run if given the chance.

i dont know what to do. I dont want my little brother in jail. If you can refrain from pressing charges, you're compassion and understanding will come back to you three-fold. But it is your choice. I really was not aware of any car theft though...maybe there was another incident?
