My husband and I are having the same problem because of a Germany phone company as well and we're military too. I had the same issue with Aurora. Reading your message sounded like I could have wrote it myself. Wondering what Germany company it is to see if it's the same one because I've heard of many other soldiers having problems with the same company I am having problems with, Deusche Telekom. This whole situation just really irriates me, our soldiers being taken advantage like this. I feel helpless right now about it. I'm getting ready to go talk to legal myself about it.

I seriously doubt this was the case, because I called in trying to resolve the same issue and we're military also. I could have wrote his discussion post pretty much word for word. I called in trying to see what was going on why we was getting this bill because when I closed the account right before leaving Germany, I made sure to go into their office and ask what the full payoff amount was and went up and paid it that day. I told the Aurora representative that and that the claim wasn't valid. I also told her I wanted proof of the bill she just argued with me that it was valid and that I needed to pay it now. This went on for quite a while. When she couldn't provide me with any proof, and she continued to be rude, I asked for a supervisor as well. She said she was. Then I told her I wanted to speak with her supervisor and she denied me that so then finally I had to hang up as well because I'm not going to sit there and have someone raise their voice at me to pay something that I know isn't legit.

It's pretty pathetic that these henchmen for this German telephone company have no remorse. Apparently the Germans are still mad about the war in the forties because I too paid my bill in full before leaving only to receive notification that I owed money and that my credit was to be affected. When I spoke to the rude "lady" at Aurora she said I was on a "late billing cycle" (whatever that is) and became quite rude. Not only are these goons at Aurora out to help soldiers get screwed, but then they have the audacity to masquerade on this forum as happy customers?

Did anyone ever have any luck with their IG or JAG offices with this issue? I too experienced the headache of dealing with Aurora. The ONLY blemish on my record, and this Telekom debt made my credit score drop from 770 to 666! I sent the collection agency copies of emails from DT that my account was closed, the amount owed, and bank statements proving payment.

I received only one notice from them, claiming it was a 'final' notice, to which I promptly responded with proof of paid bills, but they still mangled my credit score and claimed they had sent other notices...

Very sad to see this happening systematically to troops and their families.

Dirt bags just like the rest of em. Paid the bill to the client and three years later never took it off my credit report. These pussies have no teeth. Only thing they'll try to do is damage your credit report. Lawsuit in the works. They work out of an apartment building by Denver University. Amateurs.

This lady that answers the phone is a horrible person. She spoke to me as if I were an idiot. She prefaced her threat to have me arrested with "this is not a threat" -way to go lady. I guess she really knows the law. Fact is, she is a bottom feeder. Bleeding the poor and middle class. Way to go lady.
