Yeah. Me thinks so.....
In regards to that though:
I myself won't even drink the water if I have to travel in that area. I always either bring water or buy something that was shipped in like orange juice. The thought of drinking water from Stanley Lake is a fright best left to Steven King.

I was there before! An area filled with snows and mountains.
I wish you much enjoyment there. It is a wonderful area if you get out and look around.

That was very mean Mr.....oh hmm, Texas? We got lots of those too. And we have lots of everywhere else. The only thing we do not have a lot of here are actual Coloradoans. I myself am a Colorado native, I know I know it is rare! Do not listen to this guy, he does not speak for the majority. I hope you have a safe and happy move to our beautiful state.
Colorado Springs is a beautiful city. It's true about native Coloradoans being rare, maybe because people visit, fall in love with the place and then move there from other states? I spent some time in the north and west sides of Colorado Springs but in all parts there are many nice parks, lots of recreation spots and lovely mountains outlining the city. The city is diverse, there are still great schools to choose from and the people are friendly. The cost of living is abit less than Denver but if one held a position in Colorado Springs, in Denver the pay would be relatively higher in Denver. Thus, there are many people who live in Colorado Springs that commute to Denver daily to their workplaces. I-25 is a very busy interstate and Colorado Springs to Denver is about a one hour drive.

Denver is much larger than Colorado Springs. The cost of living is higher. All that you and your family seek can be found in Denver, the options are numerous. There are cities on the outskirts of Denver like someone here mentioned Golden, which is a nice area. There is also Wheatridge, which is also a nice area, just to name a few. There is Six Flags in the heart of downtown Denver and so much more as far as schools, recreation and nice parks.

Best wishes to you and your family

Colorado Springs does have the big military base, and because of that they have weathered the recession somewhat better because of all the spending that is peripheral to military bases.
Employment in the manual labor area is not doing well because our state and Denver in particular is known as a sanctuary state, which means any manual labor job you are in competition with illegals. That also lightens the military base, because they card everyone going on base, and without proper ID the labor force by sub contractors have to be US proof.
This is also true.

Also, Jacksonian in Littleton, CO recommends having jobs lined up and its a great recommendation.
