All I know is that it was at the corner of Rio Oso and HWY 65.

I was detoured down a gravel road without direction as where this would take me. There has to be a better system in place then this. No info from CHP what-so-ever.
Also no information on the AM radio station where to detour if you were heading North.
Total kaos!

The accident was not in Sheridan it was just south of Wheatland at the corner of Wheatland Road and Hwy 65 The detour was not that hard to figure out The CHP didn't have much choice if traffic was going to move at all. I am wondering why this is titled fatal accident? The guy was alive when I saw him put into the helicopter. His Honda didn't look to good though I have been wondering all day if he surrived??

There were not any children except in the pick-up behing the big rig and they got their windshield hit with dirt and some cracks in the windshield. No one hurt in that car. There was the big rig, the accord who tried to pass the big rig then plowed into his trailer who then proceeded to hit another pickup head on about 1/8 mile down the road. The only serious injury was the guy in the accord. The driver of the pickup hit his head and I am sure he is very sore today and is probably going to have to go car shopping soon. If the other guy surrvived he will probably be in the hospital for a while. The moral of the story is don't pass on Highway 65. Too often it doesn't have a happy ending

I was the guy in truck with the kids.I wasnt behind the truck, the truck was going north and I was going south. When the trailor flipped and skidded on the road it pelted my truck with rocks, chipping my paint and windsheild. I havent been able to find one bit of news on this crash.

The guy in the truck was one of my friends from wheatland. He is fine but def sore, and yeah his truck was totalled. He said the accord was in oncoming traffic, hit the big rig which put him sideways and then my friend (in the pickup) hit him. He said he thinks the guy in the accord was paralized.

I am glad that your friend will be ok. Did he have to have stitches or anything? Too bad about his truck though it looked like it was pretty new 5 minutes before I saw it. We were probably 10 cars behind the whole thing. My 15 year old daughter was driving (sher got her permit last Tuesday) when she saw your friends truck and then the accord she was really shook up and had to pull over in the orchard for a while. I am glad that getting gas in Roseville took longer than expected or we may have been closer or in it and my daughter would probably never drive again. I have a friend that works at UCDMed Center in the Trauma ER so when I see her on Thurs. I will ask her if she knows anything about the guy in the Accord. I would assume they took him to the Med Center instead of Roseville but either way she may know something. There was another BAD crash in Sac that day so who knows who went where. The Life Flight people have sure been busy the past few days.

So who was the guy in the accord trying to pass? When we came back through there at about 9:00 there was still dirt all over the road. Scared my daughter because she couldn't see through the cloud of dust from the on coming traffic. Guess that was a dirt biking adventure your kids will remember for a long time.

Man what a strange time. My 16yo wanted to drive home from our dirt bike ride up at Stoneyford. He forgot his wallet at home and didnt have his permit on him so I would not let him drive. Then this happened.

There was a Tahoe in front of me and the Accord in front of him. I honestly didnt know he was trying to pass a car, all I could see was the Accord swerve out into on comming traffic and hit the rear trailor on the big rig.I thought he was drunk or mabey he fell a sleep at the wheel. I asked a Wheatland cop about how to get all the insurance info and that was when he told me that the guy was trying to pass a car.My kids were shaken up as well.

Yeah that honda was pretty messed up. I was amazed that the guy was alive when they took him out. I don't think many cars would come out of that crash very well. Your truck looked pretty messed up from what I could see. Honda does have an excellent safety rating. 55+ crashing into 55+ is never going to have a happy ending. I can't believe you and your friend weren't hurt worse than you were.

I have driven that road to pick up my granddaugther at least every two weeks for the past 3 years. I have driven it many many times since I turned 16. I can not believe that this was the first time I have actually seen one of the numerous serious crashes. I try not to do too much over the speed limit and can not believe some of the crazy things people do out there. It certainly reinforced to my daughter about how vital it is to pay attention when driving and why she has heard me complain about the crazy drivers on that Highway

I hope you get a good settlement out of the deal. If you hear anything about the other guy let me know please
