October 11, 2009 Art Layton of West Edmeston ran the Marine Corps Half Marathon Race from Colonie to Albany NY. This is the 2nd year that Arty has competed in the marathon to raise money for the West Edmeston Volunteer Fire Department. Not all funds have been handed in yet but we estimate he has raised over $500.00. Out of 781 runners participating in the Half Marathon - I am proud to announce, Arthur Layton came in 259th - Not to bad for an "old" man. So when you see the West Winfield postmaster tell him,“Way to Go.” Thank you to everyone that sponsored Arty. Also a special thank you to Arty for all that he does for our community. We would be lost without you.
