Do you want every single outsider to leave? or maybe just half? or maybe just the ones you don't like? Or maybe just the ones with some money? Or maybe the ones with jobs? I think you should explain yourself a little more. Also who exactly decides who is an outsider and who isn't? Is a person who moved to Harrisville from Natural Bridge an outsider? How about Gouverneur? Also how about Star Lake or how about someone from like really really far away...like carthage or even West Carthage? If someone from Pitcairn moves to Harrisville are they outsiders? and if so how long do they remain outsiders until until they are accepted as Harrisville insiders? How long does the average person have to live in Harrisville before they are an insider? These are questiolns someone really needs to answer...I lived in Harrisville in 1988-1991 and after three years of being an outsider I moved out..But I hope it's not too late to become an insider...I so desperately want to become one. Oh and as far as the answer to the question asked on this thread..I think "truth" answered it for me.

Good question! Those with a little bit more $$ are the worst, not all but some. Then there are those who inherit $$ or live off previous family names that feel "entitled". But you always have those that feel they are better than the next person, that will never change!!

I realy feel that we live in a great village. I dont want to appear all "Polly-Annaish", as I realize there are some challenges and issues. However, when I look around, I couldnt ask for a better place to raise my family.

I like it much better than where I used to live.
Traffic alone has lowered my blood pressure.

Yes Harrisville clodhoppers why don't you chase all the outsiders out....Start with the people who bought the old Burr farm and have put tons of money and hard work into bringing it back to life...then maybe move onto some of the other people who have decided to bring their money and experience to Harrisville just to have ignorant people with certain family names complain about them. These complainers couldn't make it a week outside of Harrisville..where Mommy and Daddy cant give them land or a house or a job and are jealous of us who have had a successful life elsewhere.

I have lived here my whole life. If you think it's expensive to live here, it would be a lot worse without the people on Lake Bonaparte paying taxes. During the summer months they spend a lot of money supporting local businesses. You don't have to be an outsider to be a moron.

Exactly - what he said. Sometimes it takes and "outsider" to rejuventate an area and bring new ideas, concepts to local gov't and to pay your damn way thru life. What an ignorant thing to even say. Keep the outsiders out - phoooey!

U outsiders "lake people" do nothing but raise out property taxes and bring liberalism to our town!! This is a town proud of our grandparents and great grandparents and we want to keep this going for many more generations. You people move in and bitch and moan and try to get involved in OUR affairs when you should just mind your own business and quit ruining "our" lake!!! Go back to Syracuse or Watertown or Carthage wherever you are from and worry about your OWN issues!!! The ONLY people who think outsiders moving in is a positive are the outsiders themselves!!! The real people are the ones with the same last names that we have in our local cemeteries!!! Those are our true leaders and those are the names that should be honered!!! If your last name don't match a name in there then you are nothing but a "VISITOR", and you are not welcome!!! We have done well for over 150 years without you folks and as long as we are not diluted I'm sure the next 150 will be fine too!!!
