Means they have violated terms of probation/parole, have violated pretrial terms of release, etc.

Yeah,if they already been in trouble for cs and are still not paying. There's usually certain terms with a release like keeping payments current and payments on arrearage.

If they don't pay child support they should be kept under the jail.

Yeah. But it would be rather difficult for 'em to get caught up on it from there, don't ya think??Don't misunderstand me.Putting guys who have no respect for their kids under the jail, should go without saying. The fact that we can't really distinguish a dead-beat dad with no respect from a dead-beat dad with no money is probably why they decide to store them in it,instead of under it though. That way his child-support bill can grow to such colossal proportions that he is never able to climb out from under it,,,,especially if he intends to live a straight laced life.I feel what you feel, but lawmakers have gotten everybody's neck in a noose with these child support laws. What kid wants to hear,"since dad didn't buy you shoes this week,,,we're takin' your dad from ya,and then effectively hindering any chance that he may have to benefit you in the future as well"??? Under the jail seems more humane concerning everyone involved.Me thinks.

How can u call anybody a dead beat dad and don't know the situation. Do u people know where the money goes? It's really messed up when you are paying the money but your baby momma ain't getting it, thinks your not paying only to find out it goes in a pool for the system not for the kid and when you file taxes it all goes to the ARREAGE. If these men are such dead beat dads and you are so concerned about the kids why don't the kid get half the money? If u need Medicaid how is it free when most of the DEAD BEAT DAD'S have a case because they got some HELP from our country LOL LAND OF THE FREE!!!!

The jail gets a per diam income on each inmate. A percentage of that goes to back child support. That is why the State considers locking up people (Mostly Men) when they can't pay.

Some parents need the laws and the consequence to persuade them into doing the right thing. I care for my children reguardless of the other parent doing their part. It is much easier to provide well when both parents contribute.

I agree with you in part friend yellow.Without doubt. Both parents should provide for a child that "they" brought into this world. And they should provide teachings, love, and a sense of stability,,,along with just provisions.
However,I believe that child support laws as they are,,,create as many problems as they solve.
I feel like the state should at least give "some" relief to inmates whose child support bills are growing,,,while they're doing time for a delinquent child support bill.
Either way,,,have a good night friend Yellow.
