Just heard the City Council had A SPECIAL meeting last night. From what I was told they had a special meeting to annex property from Shepherdsville to hwy 245. Was told the second reading will be Thursday night at 6:30 at City Hall. Every one needs to be there, whats next, first it was higher sewer bills, now this, what is going on, does the public not have any voice any more? Hopefully at election time EVERYONE will remember this.

You people need to have your facts straight before you get on here running your mouths. The annexation is at the request of a property owner. It won't take in any personal property along the way so it won't affect anyone else and it will be bringing a very large amount of jobs. No one else's taxes will be affected. It is a win win for everyone. You should be asking questions at the council meeting instead of just stirring up trouble.

They did at Brooks a few years ago down to the L&N golf course to a quarry type operation, from shepherdsville to 1020 to the business and did not annex any property along the way just that surface quarry and noting else.

The public has a voice in a representative government on election day! If you ran and were not elected then you wait until the next election and run again or get in touch with your representative and let him know how you feel on a topic. If you are in Mt. Washington as your address suggests, why do you care?

The Land Owners probably know that The rezoning will not be O.K'ed by Bullitt Physical Court in the Meeting on the 6th of Sept. So in a way to get around that they have asked Shepherdsville to annex it in to the city. That way The City Council can OVERRIDE what Physical Court says and get the Rezoning passed. That way they can put in the Big Warehouses that alot of the Neighborhood and the Local Church opposes.

Legal, but dirty Politics..... bad thing is if Shepherdsville City Council passes it. Nobody in the community around there can Hold them accountable come Election time. Since we don't live in the City we don't get to vote for City Council.

Oh and Buildings Don't create jobs!!! and the land owners Have NEVER said if they have Tenant For these warehouses or Not.

All I ask being a resident of the Community is that if you are aginst this kind of politics and policys show up and Voice you displeasure in it Thursday night.

Maybe you should read today's Pioneer News. The property owners probably requested it so they could get their deal thru, very dirty politics in my opinion!

Fom what I understand a magistrate and the county judge made a remark against it before the reading was ever done on record, kind of shows prejustice on their part for siding with the church and that all things were not considered on either side of this and minds were already made before the start, that could as well be a liability on those 2 county officials for making such a remark on record before any discussion was opened, and this I read in the pioneer and the courier. I guess my question here is who stacked the deck against who, looks like the church is playing a part here if the church stacked these two officials against the zoning change before the forum began ? With that said who is playing dirty politics here from the start ?

The way I see and have read about this whole thing is if the Church and its Preacher are putting enough pressure on this judge and the magistrate to say before the floor opened for discussion and on record made a statement as mentioned in the papers and on this topic and others,it looks as if the church was already into playing politics with these 2 officials so to me the the church representatives had an idea of an agenda politically, murphy's law states an action always causes a reaction, so if the church began the dirty politics as it appears they brought it on themselves, maybe those folks should refresh their reading skills with better understanding of the will of the Bible.

I think everybody should show up at the City Council meeting tonight and see who has a Hidden agenda. Why are the some of the council memebers upset that they were told about this on Monday, had the First reading on tuesday, and voting on it Tonight? Who is pushing it thru and Why? I don't think it is the Church or the neighbors trying to do it. Who has an agenda here?

Oh and going with Murphys law, an action always causes a reaction. How about this Planning and Zoning slides this thru without nobody knowing and people find out about it. There is a Reason NOBODY in the neighborhood Showed up at the original planning and zoning meeting. NOBODY KNEW ABOUT IT!!!!

That's why everybody is up in arms about it now.

I am happy they are pushing through the annexation and zoning. It is the first thing this council has done to create income rather than cut more services.

Everyone should know a few council members want to cut services even more. They want to city your fire and police protection. The police department had 26 cops at the start of the year, now they have 19. Two counselmen have even been to see the sheriff because they want to lay off more cops.

Everyone needs to be at the next meeting to tell them it is not okay to gamble with our safety! I didn't create this problem I don't want a smaller fire or police department because of their mistakes.

CITY COUNCIL, CITY COUNCIL. What the hell is the Mayor doing, the city council runs the budget, the Mayor runs the city. If he is a leader, he needs to quit acting like a bobble head doll, at the meetings, just shaking his head. and be a voice for the people. Make a decision. Are we going to lose more police officers and fire fighters. Lay off some of the front office staff. They have four people working in the front office, not counting the Mayor. Lay off the grass cutters that are part time, and how many contract people do we have trying to straighten out this mess. Please do not wait to election time, take your city back. Show up in force and be a voice. Any Maybe we need a Tea Party movement and demonstration in front of city hall.
