See our local funeral director is back in jail, this time for domestic violence and wanton endangerment. I hope he has lost his license, the community does not need a person like this employed in this type of business.

I agree that people who serve the public are expected to portray a respectable image while in public. However what happens in their personal life should be private as long as it doesn't interfere with their job. He wasn't abusing a corpse was he? And over half of the lawyers, judges, city and county officials can be found gettin hammered at local bars. I'm not defending him just sayin be careful when judging cause there's lots of people who can be judged....including you.

most funeral homes are not a newcomer to being crooked. funeral homes are the only business where you pay a non-declinable service fee for your part portion of their "overhead" and then you buy every item you need. good thing the shopping mall don't make us pay "our part of the overhead" just for walking in the door and shopping at the stores. funeral homes i think are crooked for that reason. newcomer funeral home charges less for service but more for caskets than most funeral homes. but whether they charge more for caskets or more for service it all ends up about the same. i called all three funeral homes and they were all basically the same price. do the funeral homes all get together and come up with the price because it seems like they do. the funeral home know we have to hire some funeral home for care for our loved ones but i think they are all overpriced.

The reason for overhead pricing-using the facilities takes electricity, water, etc.-if there's a visitation with 100 people, and everyone uses the restroom once, that's a lot of water. the building has to be kept up. Most funeral homes are in competition (although not
publicly) with each other. when one raises prices, typically the other will too. that's why price are so similar. newcomers funeral home is the cheapest one but when all is said and done, they charge individually for things that add up rather quickly, and they are not as professional and knowledgeable as other firms. Overhead is included in most "Professional Services". You are right, it's not declinable but it includes the staff being at your beck and call, taking care of all calls that need to be made, insurance filed, and pretty much organizing the whole funeral; you're paying for peace of mind. it's worth it when you've had a positive experience with the last time you'll see your loved one. A lot of funeral directors have gone to school if they are dual licensed (meaning both embalmers and directors). Schooling is expensive, so a decent salary needs to be made to make the student loans worth it and to support their family.

Oh dear Lord here we go again. Tim's personal life is none of our business. Tim has been a very good friend of mine for 20 years and I know what type of man he is. Everyone makes mistakes and it is not our job to judge them. If it doesn't affect you personally then don't concern yourself with it. Gossip ruins lives! Tim is a professional when it comes to his job and I'm sure there are numerous people who will agree with that. Our community is blessed to have someone like him working at the local funeral home. Enough said!

i will just say if it hadnt been for tim i dont know what our family would have done. he is a wonderful caring person and committed to being there for the families when they most need it. his personal life is his personal life and none of our concern. the way he conducts himself when he is working and the way he treats others in their time of mourning are what makes him more than qualified for his job.

That may have been the dumbest thing I've ever read. Do you know how to form sentences and use capitalization? If a dumass like u came into my funeral home I would take advantage of u to because it would be do easy to do so.

As for Tim he is basically a good guy and I've known him for more than 20 years. I don't agree with his personal life but it's his life to live not mine. I think he does a wonderful job but yes he does need to quit drinking.

I have known him since he was born. He is a caring person. What people do on their own time should have nothing to do with their job. I don't agree with the life he has chosen but it's his not mine. No one knows what a person has to live with and everyone handles things differently. Everyone in Bullitt County knows how crooked the law is. I'm sure the whole story isn't being told. Here in Bullitt County you can be charged with a DUI without a blood test or a breath test. Just because you were ask a question about drinking and you answered that it was pryor to an incident. That could mean just minutes or hours but the law doesn't care about the truth just money.
